  4. Look, when the people at the bottom get a pay rise, it increases the pay of everyone in the organisation. It will then spiral to other strong unions leaving some people very poor. Seeking a pay rise now is detrimental to the fortunes of this country. The Unions are only doing it to oust the Tory Party, union leaders having massive salaries themselves. I was a Coal Miner and we did it in the 70's and 80's, and yes there were a few lower paid people but we squeezed the system until we had money beyond our dreams but it destroyed the economy and the government were forced to act. The government know whats coming this time and are prepared to prevent wage rises at all costs, even the destruction of those industries
