On August first Dimitry sasnakoyev the head of the provincial administration of south Ossetia (the Georgian recognised adminstration of south Ossetia) and an opposition leader to Eduard kotoy almost dies to a car bombing . August 1-7 vllages of zemo nikolisi , nulli etc are attack with heavy artillery On August 3 Georgian peacekeepers start receiving fire from ossetian milias. Russia provoked Georgia into attacking . It tried to the same with Ukraine but the trick didn't work

In china you're competing with the Saudis , the UAE , Iran , Iraq , Qatar and potential future local ones from the South China sea . China isn't a good substitute

  49. Ukraine never had an advantage of 5 to 1 . Maybe It could've had that in localized battles but not in general. Only way to get that number is to count every Ukraine in the army ( even including the cooks of the men who repair tanks in Kyiv ) and take the lowest estimates for russian and scribble out all the logistics people Fortifications can be defeated , west is sending them tanks , west is sending a lot of demining equipment, west is sending them jdams , west is sending them glsdb and so on , these things have worked against fortifications before 5-7x advantage in firepower is overblown , that was in June when Ukraine hadn't yet deployed himars to force Russian depos back and complicate logistics , now Russian fire rate is down 75% from the peak , even still Russian priority system isn't sufficient so a lot of artillery is wasted and generally their accuracy isn't something that can be observed
