  2.  @GrikWorldNomad  Over run? Portugal has a population of around 10million. Our small city has a population of 100k and probably about 500 retirees/foreigners from many countries. The Algarve is mainly British - we did not want to live there! Our city just south of Lisbon it has US, Canadians, British, French, Ukrainians, Belgians, Australians and many others. I don't think any nationality has overrun the country (outside of The Algarve). There are plenty of areas all over Portugal where it's a must to speak the local language. We are taking lessons, and the local people are always very receptive to us. We now have local friends and foreigners alike. We meet regularly, sketch together or just pass the time when we meet in the city square. We have found our home. Why not visit to see for yourself?.

  14. Lviv very interesting, inexpensive, friendly people, very picturesque. Kyiv - the capital, okay - very busy, traffic bad but good for tours to Chernobyl - worth a visit!

  22. Not driven since we arrived in Portugal. A much less stressful experience. Uber/Bolts are plentiful. We're about 40mins from Central Lisbon by car or about an hour by train and ferry which is a very pleasant experience bobbing on the river with Lisbon in the background. Also nice to use electric bikes or scooters. We're currently in an easy walking flat city... a nice experience walking 10,000 steps per day to the local cafes/parks and restaurants or to the local beaches. Just the life we wanted. A car would dramatically complicate our lives.

  26.  @iamgreat1234  How does the state subsidise for foreigners? There are too many developers producing too many condos in KL - all are available. No one will buy them for 3 million - if they did that would be the price. It seems the Malaysian government does not want foreigners to spend money there, it is a shame but there is good news - many other governments want money and are happy to make us welcome. Many, many foreigners were waiting for the new MM2H program to start again so we will all go to a better place where the government and the local people hold out the hand of friendship. I'm sure you realise governments firstly always blame foreigners for the problems with society.

  27. Stay and enjoy! We departed in 2022, we've been very happy. Not going back - no need, we enjoy better healthcare, safer cities, and great transport infrastructure. Friendly locals too.

  28.  @omarj5534  We spent two months touring around in Mexico - the only place I didn't like was San Miguel - too commercialised and too much like a film set. We enjoyed Queretaro, Morelia, and Guanajuato. CDMX was okay for a visit to the art galleries etc. Met some great people.

  47. Just live in a city with great transport infrastructure - plenty of very safe cities around the world. We chose a flat, easy-walking city with trains, buses and great uber service.
