"No ones hungry, no ones cold, everyone has basic health insurance"... Literally none of that is reflected by reality. Millions skip meals, millions are homeless and millions have medical debt that is bankrupting them. And this is ever growing in number. I was homeless for nearly five years because the government didn't do anything to help me. I went hungry everyday, lost so much weight i was unrecognizable. When i finally gained weight it was because i was eating dollar tree food...

There is big difference between working for a company in a factory and being a yard sweeper, newspaper boy, summer lifeguard and assisting your father at his shoe shop.
96
Workers of the world cannot unite if workers from around the world leave their homes for ours.
43
As someone who is actually "pro life" I support universal healthcare.
36
As a conservative, a true social conservative, as in i want to conserve family and community values, I do not understand how capitalism can coexist with conservatism. They are diametrically opposed.
33
Limiting the amount of residential properties a single individual or company can own to 3 would help alot with rent prices too.
32
Better yet, ban third, fourth etc homes and tax passive income.
26
Because that's not profitable.
23
What's the point in having healthcare if you have to pay that much out of pocket? Why don't we nationalize the pharmaceutical industry?
15
Workers want a bigger slice of the pie. Why? Because the pie has gotten much bigger and it's largely because of them. Yet they aren't seeing that increase in proportion unlike the few who own the factory that the pies are made in. Get the analogy?
14
Or impose acquisition taxes.
12
What's ridiculous is that Republicans and conservatives are now denying that they want to cut these helpful programs. They called Biden a liar at the State of the Union Address for pointing it out. Biden is a liar but not about this. I'm a social conservative. But these fiscal ones give me the creeps. They are vile people who genuinely have contempt for the working and lower class.
11
It's this stuff that makes me angry that conservatives don't see how Capitalism is not our friend. Conservatives. Adopt worker forward policies ontop of your social policies. You'll never lose.
10
Costco makes sense.
10
Same thing. It's inevitable this will happen. Everytime.

The entirety of Europe and the Southern US called, they'd like to talk about outsiders reshaping their states and cities.
8
@SgtJoeSmith well it would be a disincentive to merge or acquire another company in the first place, making your argument moot.
7
@kelsiekraft5714 um, you're confusing social conservativism with fiscal conservatism. My entire beliefs system is that of working class values. Universal healthcare, collective bargaining rights, community association, family businesses, cooperative and small family farming. The only people I "bully" or believe should be bullied are the upper class brats who think the world owes them shit because they have a lot of money. For gods sake, I've been arguing with a dude in another comment section for an entire day about why capitalism doesn't actually create wealth, it extracts it from working people.

Now this is content i am looking for. ST, I appreciate your journalism and am happy you and More Perfect Union are working together. Also your voice is soothing. No homo. Gotta say that.
6
Never knew anything about this game. Wild to think that children modding is being exploited for profit.
5
@morten3465 you mean the give away more money to foreign nations bill?
5
Strong nations are literally built by strong domestic productivity, unions and secure borders. This is a step in the right direction.
4
Boom. This comment speaks to the real problem here. We should not have door dash and under eats and whatever delivery app. They ruin everyones experience. Especially people who order in.
4
A better idea. Let's implement an acquisition tax. Every merger, buyout, consolidation, absorption and acquisition between 2 or more corporations will be taxed at the rate it cost to acquire and then multiply it by two. Company A bought company B for 200 million dollars? Now they gotta pay 400 mill to finalize and have the government officially recognize it.
4
Tell me you don't listen without telling me you don't listen
4
Wokeness is capitalism.
4
What do you mean? Allowing foreign labor is what they have been, and are currently doing... They are doing it in the 10s of millions...
4
"Socialism destroys family businesses!" No actually, capitalism does. Just as capitalism corrupts government, not the other way around.
3
Can you stop calling people white nationalists just because they are white and rich? It makes many lose trust in you. And no, there is no such thing as white privilege.
3
I'm sorry but I can't take this girl seriously. The piercings, the colored hair, the crazy lipstick... It's worrying what kind of crazy ish she advocates for. Doesn't mean she and other workers should not be compensated fairly for their productivity, they certainly should.
3
@markpoultonsrules I am a hater. But I'm not jealous. I have no desire to profit off another person's need for shelter.
3
If you genuinely believe those progressive activists are tough enough and masculine enough to actually do most of these jobs then you're out of your mind.
3
It does not sound like a utopian future. It sounds like a dystopian nightmare where parents pass their kids off to paid sitters instead of raising their own child. Womn leaving home and taking jobs was the problem... They became wage slaves too and worse that that, they ditched their role and demanded men respect them for it.
3
Ban short term rentals. Limit private residential property ownership to 3. Stop massive immigration, close the border, expel foreign buyers and renters of land and property. Encourage young men and women to move in together and start a family instead of seeking housing separately as individuals. Incentivize multigenerational households. Most of this is policy. Some is culture.
3
Exactly.
3
No. The answer is to change your diet, stop smoking, stop having children out of wedlock and exercise more.
3
And small family businesses. Those don't need to be turned into cooperatives.
3
Yeah I have no idea what that is saying. It almost seems like 175$ will be taken out of your deposit for garbage fees.
2
You're speaking too many facts
2
Socially conservative but economically left wing is the future of this country. And to answer the question of who i likely have more in common with, a "Mexican "migrant or Donald Trump? Donald Trump. Full stop. I live in whats now a Mexican majority neighborhood. I have zero in common with them and they don't want anything to do with me. They dont speak English, they party with loud music until 3 in the morning, they drink constantly and leave beer cans everywhere, and when they do throw trash away its in my bin... They have nothing in common with me and i don't want them in this country.
2
Milton directly stated that workers demanding higher wages led to corporations raising prices to make up the difference. Are you claiming he didn't say that?
2
They are "mostly corrupt" according to whom and compared to whom?
2
People on the Right would say that profit and greed have always existed and question why now all of a sudden it's causing prices to inflate. So is the answer: because record profits have occured rapidly amongst the most powerful organizations? Could it also be because small businesses were decimated during the pandemic? It could also be the shock that came from people having lots of buying power and then suddenly not anymore, on top of the economy opening back up while productivity remained at levels too low to keep up with the sudden opening?
2
American Reign of Terror? Count me in.
2
@michaeld4861 but the stimulus checks didn't even come from money printing. That's what no one seems to be aware of.
2
@ExtraSimplified because it is inevitable. I'm not sure why that's somehow shocking to you.
2
Or... The government could invest in the ppl as a whole where this becomes a common sight and not the exception
2
This ain't it chief. Y'all aren't full time employees making a product. Y'all are essentially partaking in a hobby. The only way to get paid is if the owners of the team and or league net enough to distribute to the players. This is the minor leagues. I recognize it's not ideal to try and do this and feed yourself but demanding more pay that likely isn't even available to keep the league and stadiums afloat is the name of the game.
2
But there is no such thing as a "truly 100% free market" there never had been and there never will be.
2
I never understood the argument of "choice" when it comes to healthcare. I don't choose my sickness, i dont choose my disability, I didn't choose how i got injured. Why would i need to choose what "plan" I have for an unplanned event that needs to be solved regardless of ability to pay or what "plan" i "chose".
