Let's push up inflation and increase borrowing rates so nurses mortgage payments shoot up as a result and we all pay higher taxes to pay off national debt at higher rates. The economy is clearly not your strong point. Higher pay today will have a NEGATIVE effect on nurses' overall earnings.

  8.  @marywood8794  It is paying what they are worth. RCN stated the average is 34K, on top of that they get very generous overtime, so more like 40K. They get 30+ days holiday, generous sick-pay and a bunch of other benefits, like good pension. The UK average wage for a person is 38K without all the additional benefits NHS workers get.

Being cash buyers they are able to secure houses easily compared to a family with a deposit as a cash buyer is more attractive than somebody with a LTV. Developers build houses to SELL not rent, developers are not these people, developers are not buying old houses to rent and are a completely different market to these landlords in the rental sector. I don't agree with forcing landlords to sell, but it would absolutely and instantly increase housing availability to those wishing to buy, of course it would. Suggesting anything otherwise is naïve and silly. You clearly have no idea about the UK market.

That is likely one of the main reasons he paid her off, nothing to do with innocence or guilt. Another reason would simply be that he does not want his private life subject to the a US media circus for months. Not hard to figure out, is it? I'd pay her off.
