This may all get explained next season. Whether it would be a satisfactory explanation is another question.

WTF is that in the advertisement on the right side of that website? It looks like someone put a scarf on a penis.
1
I'm going to give this a chance because there are some elements that tick some boxes for me but my expectations will be very low.
1
I think imposter syndrome is endemic in Hollywood in the form where they actually aren't qualified for the job.
1
I think some of the problem is the streaming wars and the need for "content". It has led to a dilution of the talent pool. And of course, new hires are going to be hired based on DEI and not merit so the problem compounds. There are still some very talented people out there but it's harder to get all the good talent needed to gel together to produce something really good.

Keep personal copies of anything you love.
1
10:04 Why are you ragging on Rian Johnson again? He had nothing to do with ROTJ.
1
Just remember, it's not Marvel, it's Disney Marvel.
1
"with a mighty bound, he was free" and "it was all a dream" are brood-mates.
1
I was kind-of the same. I started watching the first episode and the cowboy aesthetic really wasn't doing it for me. There were a lot of other good shows to watch and I had other stuff going on so I gave it a pass. And then it got cancelled. I was hearing a lot of good things from other people though.
1
Length 4:01. Nice attention to detail.
1
Looks like a fairly significant budge boost this season. Anybody know the numbers?
1
It'll doubtless be slanderous to the English too.
1
@Totttty55 Not a sequel but that reminds me of when I saw Back to the Future in the theater. At the end, when Marty returns to the present, the projector became misaligned and everyone's heads were off the top of the screen so a big part of the point (everyone's changed appearances) was lost. I had to wait to see the ending on vhs.
1
@Markus-c3n I wasn't angry, I was just disappointed.
1
My first DVD purchase too. I still have it after all these years. I should see if there's a 4K version out.
1
The diversity is obviously a product of it being a current-year production but if you know the back-story, it's not hard to fanwank explanations. Also, let's not forget that darker skin in some parts of southern Europe was partly the product of invasions.
1
Starring Brad Pitt as 456 and George Clooney as 001
1
The thing with Madame Web is not that it's bad because it's a female dominated movie but that it's a bad movie that couldn't be abandoned because it's a female dominated movie. DEI has become a liability.
1
You can play the guitar with one fretting finger if you mess with the tuning. Look at how Dolly Parton plays.
1
I love me some SNL on a Saturday night. Especially when it's live

@toysoldier46552 If Rise of Skywalker can get away with Leia... Haha, I'm just kidding. It's a terrible idea.
1
The good news is that for a lot of this, Disney does not own the characters and stories. So if they're going to relegate themselves to producing stuff that's worse than the straight-to-dvd knockoffs, it leaves the door open for someone to do a decent job.
1
I have never seen it. Ironically less for the movie itself than because of Costner's other movie which had that godawful song that seemed to play non-stop on the radio at the place I was working (and everywhere else) when it was released. You know the one.
1
@themarsman5155 Yes. And they were always fake but now they're really fake with all the quotas. They arguably had a point when they were recognizing best-in-class but they're off being meaningful and therefore just a waste of time. Plus a lot of the mystique is gone in modern times.
1
@cameraman502 That sounds like a pretext to me.
1
She made a great cup of coffee. And knew where all the bodies were buried.
1
I'll probably give it a watch because of the actress but the CGI will probably filter out a lot of what she could bring to the role.
1
I've gotta say though. If you're going to put a price on your dignity and self-respect, $4,000,000,000 is probably not a bad target to aim for.
1
Makes allusions about having sex with Wonder Woman, immediately shows Wonder Woman as a child. Unfortunate juxtaposition...
1
I'm curious what Kevin Smith did in has past that his guilt is manifesting this way.
1
@viljamtheninja Agree 100%.
1
Yeaaaaaaaaah... Pass.
1
The sad thing is, a lot of women still want a 'prince' but they expect that prince to be the government or a bullshit job in a large corporation.
1
With what the Wachowskis have said about the original Matrix actually being about (their) transgenderism and their dislike for the way "red pill" is used in popular culture, I'm concerned it might be a heavy-handed attempt to "fix" things. If so, that's unfortunate because a bad movie is a bad movie but crapping all over stuff that's come before (by which I mean many people will have taken their own meaning from the original movie(s)) is disrespectful and unnecessary. I'm sure it will be fine though.
1
I thought the point was that Diana was the weapon created to destroy Aries. Though that might just be something I made up to preserve my sanity.
1
Tom Cruise channeling Charlie Sheen at 4:45.
1
Finally, you slacker.
1
The second would have fit well as part of a TV series of "predator encounters" if it had 30 minutes cut from it. It wasn't bad as such but if Predator was turned up to 11, Predator 2 was running at about 7 or 8.
1
Same here. Can't remember which was the last one I watched (but I could probably work it out). The first one was fantastic but as Drinker says, they quickly descended to torture porn, often with no way out of the traps (one memorable one was a woman who just got frozen to death). I think there may have been plot reasons for that but the originality was gone either way.
1
@SD-ur2up Yeah, it annoyed me too because thermodynamics don't work that way.
1
It was a good movie but I felt like they could have taken the concept a bit further and made it a great movie. Worth the price of admission though.
