The courts in the US have in the majority of precedents held freedom of movement should not be impeded, so while they may allow some enforcement of tax obligations under the 16th amendment jurisprudence by the cancellation of passports, it seems unlikely long established precedents impeding the freedom of movement otherwise would be obstructed. However, as you and many others watch or reading this will know one of the greatest impediments to travel would be a criminal conviction of any kind as the nations you may want to travel to are likely to exclude those convicted of crimes from entering their country. That makes the US with it's exceptional high rate of criminalization of a variety of activities a place that puts you at increased risk of being barred by other countries from entering their borders just because so many people are drawn into the US criminal justice system. For young black men in particular, obtaining a passport and leaving the US as soon as you are 18 is probably the best way to protect yourself long term, from a purely statistical analysis.

  2. No debtors prison is debtors prison and while the US had not before Clinton and Gingrich welfare reforms allowed debtors prison it is legally allowed now in the US and there are no constitutional protections against it.
