  1. After 3 years of living in Canada legally you can become a citizen and that provides an essentially drop in replacement passport for a US passport. The difference being Canadians can leave Canada and not face global tax, so Canada can become a path to lower taxes with a passport that is virtually identical, including essentially hassle free travel to the US as a visitor.
