Here's the only thing that can be done to appease all involved groups : If any percentage of people in Kashmir want "Independence", meaning they are separatists and want to join Pakistan because they feel closer to it, it's understandable and they have the right to think how they want, BUT they don't get to drag the WHOLE STATE out of India just because of their personal feelings and desires. It is immoral to disrupt other people's lives for your desires. If All Kashmiris wanted to be separated from India, and form their own country or join Pakistan, then it would be wrong to stop them. But that is not the case. If half of Canadian citizens wanted to join USA, would it be right to force every Canadian to become a US citizen lol? They're literally ignoring all the suffering they will cause to people who don't share their dreams. So, the only 2 sensible options become - 1- People who want to join Pakistan, can move to Pakistan. And obviously, Pakistani gov has to allow them CITIZENSHIP, and economic opportunity, etc. But I doubt they have the ability right now to handle millions in migration, and not as refugees, but citizens. 2- Re-locate all the separatists, and give them their own corner of Kashmir with their own governing bodies and whatnot, which can be allocated depending on the percentage of Kashmiris that are separatists. And my personal take is that this "separatist sentiment" is religion fueled. Which means it's make believe, which means it is unrealistic, which means it's pointless. Separatists will never leave in peace the people who're fine with what they're part of and don't have a wish to change countries.
