  5. We can hardly blame the Americans for putting the squeeze on the EU, the breath-taking ineptitude of the European Elite allows the US to walk all over them. These are the leaders who are unable to name the culprits in the sabotage of the most critical part of the European energy system.

  6. This is obviously a negotiated withdrawal between Jake Sullivan and the Kremlin. The Russian troops were in an impossible situation at the other side of the river in a logistical nightmare for the winter. It was critical to save the lives of the soldiers and civilians who wished to leave. We will never know the threats and trade off to negotiate the withdrawal.

  7. Great analysis as always Alexander but I have to disagree about Olaf Sholtz. He is without a shadow of doubt the weakest leader that Germany has ever had. He allows the war mongers in the Greens to walk all over him. Of course the Americans told him about the pipeline sabotage plans. He should really resign.

  8. It is very possible now that with Russia using the tried and true NATO methods there could be a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions in Ukraine. I think there is a real possibility of food shortages and possibly famine. If the supply lines of a modern society are removed then things can get very bad very fast. The people of Ukraine are paying a terrible price.

  9. It is hardly a coincidence that both China and Russia chose to extend the terms of their leaders Xi and Putin. The decline of a hegemon is s very dangerous event in the nuclear age. Continuity is critical. Will the US lash out like a cornered rattlesnake. The enormous experience and wisdom of these two great leaderd should ensure the survival of our planet. This will be helped by the election of the President of Peace in the USA, Trump 47.

  11. The news about the pathetic european elites is very satisfying but hardly surprising, these are a unique bunch of dimwit. The longer this drags on the more catastrophic this could be for the EU. If it goes beyond this winter and starts heading to winter 2023 not only will Ukraine be demilitarised but also the individual European states. The civil unrest has already started and will only get worse. Then the EU elite will reveal themselves for what they really are.

  14. Very insightful analysis as always from Alexander. What I find difficult to understand is why the Russians should engage in any premature peace negotiations at all. President Putin clearly set out the objectives of the Special Military Operation and these have not yet been fulfilled. If this conflict was frozen now it would only allow NATO an opportunity to deceive Russia yet again. The Ukrainian army is significantly weakened, the economy is on the brink of collapse, the population has been displaced with millions of refugees in Europe and millions more in Russia. The sponsors of the conflict in the European Union have been destroyed by their own failed sanctions, the economies are in recession, GDP is falling, interest rates are rising with extraordinary speed and now the housing markets are on the brink of collapse. China is learning and preparing for the inevitable war with the American Empire so why on earth should Russia stop now. This is a golden opportunity for Russia that must not be squandered. Other ethnic Russian people need to be protected in Estonia and Latvia. Apart from the USA and Turkey, NATO is an empty suit. The demilitarisation should not stop at the border of Ukraine but continue through the whole Warsaw Pact countries and all these countries should be neutral.

  23. A wonderful programme today. Thank you Alexander. It is worth remembering that 2nd Trump Impeachment was all about Ukraine. If Trump gets elected he will end US aid from day 1. The European Union will be left holding the baby, a very ugly baby at that. I think the European Elite realise that this is what losing a war looks like. They have comprehensively ruined their economies and all their silly virtue signalling and "european values" will not save them. There are brutal elections coming and the population is out for blood.

Breathtaking is exactly the term for the Chinese capability in the production of weapons and with a command economy this can be parabolic. Unfortunately for the United States the notion of being able to pick and choose between an opponent in Europe and an opponent in Asia is no longer an option. Russia and China are already in a military alliance albeit without a name. If a war over Taiwan starts the notion that Russia will not play a part is fanciful. NATO has fallen into a trap and there are two options a. Back down or b. Escalate to a nuclear level.

  46. I'm a huge fan and I watch most of the programmes but I must comment on Alexander's endorsement of Clare Daly and Mick Wallace. If you are anti war and pro European Union then Mick and Clare are excellent candidates in an ideal world. Unfortunately these candidates represent their constituents in Ireland and not Palestine or Ukraine. Their constituents have enormous concerns about housing and illegal migration, the housing situation in Ireland is dire and International Welfare Applicants are pouring into the country under agreements with the European Union. There are a huge variety of candidates that will represent Irish citizens far better than Clare and Mick. Ireland does not need a "rules based order" and Ireland would be better off without "european values" and Frau Genocide. The European Union is the problem not the soloution.

  49. Thank you Alexander for reading the Lammy article so I didn't have to. I just presumed that it would have no substance and it seems I was correct. The problem that NATO et al face is that the leadership is weak, their weapons are soundbites and sanctions and they are facing a multipolar world with superior leaders who are not going to back down and are serious and determined. The West is decomposing from the inside.
