Just one comment, if the IMF is predicting a growth in Russian GDP of 2.5% one has to bear in mind that a NATO organisation like the IMF would deliberately underestimate the true figure. We should all remember that the former IMF president was the ex con Christine Lagarde who is now the ex con chairman of the European Central Bank.

In a calm relatively prosperous period these people can do quite well and make suitable reassuring clucking noises but in a very difficult time like this when they are up against a serious power politician they begin to squawk and panic.

The new disclosure of the Obama betrayal make the subsequent failures of Minsk 1 and 2 more serious but turnes the Istanbul peace agreement into a farce. The Russians should have learned their lesson well by now. Perhaps regime changes in Europe are required. After all they have no weapons left, the poor Slovakians gave their entire airforce away to be destroyed and a criminal investigation has been launched.

  13. Fantastic and comprehensive analysis as always. Thank you Alexander. It diminished Macron to have Ursula von der Leyen at the meeting with the President Xi. She has little or no credibility. One wonders have the Chinese, the Russians and the rest of BRICS realised that the European countries are merely colonies of the United States and incapable of independent foreign policy.
