Yeah, mentoring. How about parenting?
47
It is not the city leaders or money grubbing "community groups" raising these thugs. It is ignorant young mothers that are unfit to own a dog let alone raise a productive moral citizen. All hope is lost for Philly. The culture of ignorance, self defeat and blaming others has won.
38
Too bad she did not have the good decision making skills to stay away from a violent felon. A good mother of three does not date and get knocked up by a criminal out on parole. I know that may sound crazy harsh to some but should it really?
33
Dude looks like he spends lots of time in front of a mirror primping his hair.
29
This level of violence should not be surprising. The dysfunction that is the “community’s” culture can only result in downward spiral creating chaos and violence. I recommend the community migrate back to rural southern states where simply living with more space around them will reduce the amount of violence exposure. I hear the schools are less violent. Yes, there will always be the taint of the south, but you can still have a family, a life and thrive without all the aggression that is Philly. In Philly it is just a matter of time until something terrible happens to each person who dares to venture outdoors.

Please stop going to the mayor and police commissioner for answers. It would be better and more useful to interview the parents of the criminals. Fox did a good job interviewing the mother of the cone killer daughter. More of that would be helpful for all.
23
The councilman did not address the overreaching cause of the current violence. Willfully ignorant and neglectful toxic mothers in Philly that choose to have more than one child while single and on welfare with no intention of making a better life for these children. The violence we see today is the result of the neglect and ineptitude of these women. The men play a big roll, but the women retain the ultimate power. Yes, financial education is good but education regarding proper procreation is much more important for the young women out there. I know the sounds harsh, but my heart is in the right place and real long-term change is possible if we start dealing with the root problem. This is not a racial problem it is a self-defeating cultural problem that African Americans too often subscribe.

Philadelphia, the city where good parenting is a joke.
19
Homicide rate up to 9% at 84 deaths for 2022 over 2021. Great work Philly mothers. Nice job raising homicidal maniacs. Keep up the good work and keep that cycle of poverty, drug use and criminal offspring. All hope is lost for the city of Philadelphia.
18
Why don't grocery stores open in North Philly? Shoplifting.
18
It's not their fault. They mama's spent all the food money on drugs, cigarettes, tattoo’s, nails and Hennessy. And while all that was going on with, they mama. They be getting raised on the streets while they mama making more babies to neglect. I do feel bad about the racist tone above, but I’m frustrated because I feel no one in the community is serious about fixing this problem. The current disaster of black criminal youths took generations to get this bad and it will take at least two full generations to correct. Any lasting correction will start with young girl education. I desire a bright future for the community, but real gains will take time and a concentrated effort.

Philly homicides 2022: 22 dead up 47% from last year. Way to go all you Philly parents. You must be so proud.
15
Philly needs more residents that know how to raise their children properly. Philly culture needs to start leaning towards, self improvement, raising their economic IQ and to start looking inward for help. Oh and it would not hurt if people worried less about sneaker culture and Beyonce and focused more on generational wealth.
14
Marcus is wrong about one thing in the first part of the interview, you should blame parents 100%. These low life animals come from bad PARENTS. Sadly there are too many bad parents and grand parents in Philly. What a darn same.
14
Why do the mothers of these criminals do such a terrible job of raising their sons? 🤔 Am I wrong to think good parenting is the best way not to have messed up sons like these car-jackers and murderers? Why are these young men so willing to resort to violence?
13
If the driver wanted to help out the neighborhood he should have hit reverse and repeat.😆😅🤣😂🤣
12
Germantown, going steadily downhill since 1963. All hope is lost for Philadelphia. Too many unfit mothers that are willfully ignorant with no idea how to properly raise their children.
12
I'll bet that woman and the mothers of the shooters were the best moms. First in line to start a bake sale to raise money for PTA to purchased playground equipment for the local school or park. I also heard they frequently read to the young children at the local library and helped chaperone tours of local museums. It is too bad the dad was out of town on “business”. The dad is a pillar of the neighborhood, volunteering for youth athletics and active in the scouts. I'll also bet none of their baby boys had a single blemish on their criminal records and were all active in scouting and chess club. Such fine people like this family that constantly adds to the communities strong social fabric.😑
12
Okay, a couple things for these nice protestors. Get a job. Make better life decisions. Educate yourselves. Oh, and section 8 is not supposed to last forever if you are able bodied.
12
Hahaha, no loyalty among children from negligent mothers. Always happy when a bad guy dies. Sadly, one bad guy death is not enough to help the people of Philly. All hope is lost for Philly.
12
When will people understand that the homeless need to be dealt with. If you are homeless you are likely mentally ill and an addict of some sort. These people need to be removed from our streets.
11
Let me guess, immediate release. Thanks Krasner.
11
Can't wait to see the mug shoot of this winner.
11
Philly loses teachers because there are too many children from chronically dysfunctional families in the district.
10
Agreed, the biggest problem in the community is stone ignorant parents having children.
9
I'm not sure what Ms. Outlaw has accomplished in Philly to merit consideration for the New York job. I don't think I have ever seen any recent list of accomplishments for the Philadelphia police in general.
9
Ho rah, Philly homicides are now up over 2021. Keep up the good work you fine Philly people. Special thanks to the fine mothers in Philly who are so good at raising such excellent criminals. All hope is lost for Philly.
8
Some people lack the qualifications to parent well. You should have to qualify for a license to parent children. It is sad that its come to this but the truth sometimes hurts.
8
No descriptions of the combatants?
8
What he cop did was wrong. But what kind of ignorant mother with her child in her car is so unaware of the world around her and drives into the middle of that mess? I'm sure the local wig salons, nail salons, tattoo spots will be seeing a spike in business. Well, hopefully that will keep her off welfare.
8
When poor uneducated ignorant mothers have more children then they can control you get children raised on the streets. That is the problem. Philly needs a one welfare child policy for the good of the community. You will see a better batch of citizens come up from the poorer sectors. Once the next generation ascends out of poverty, have all the children you can afford without going on the public dole.
8
Who in their right mind picks anyone up under 50 in Philly wearing a mask? Note the ignorant way the thief is in his cell. All hope is lost for Philly.
7
Why not send Jennifer out to interview parents of criminal youth? That would be better Fox News infotainment. At least we could all have a good laugh.
7
I've heard of the green book. Will they ever come out with a book about how to behave in civil society book?
7
Prediction, most of the children that these immigrants will raise will thrive much better than most of the children born and raised in Philly. Why? The emigrees children will not be raised by parents that preach grievance. I point this out not to be harsh but to point towards a better path. There is a toxic self-defeating parenting culture in Philly. It must change so the children can have brighter futures.
7
Cherelle Parker is all that is wrong with Philadelphia governance. Note how she called she called for "all hands on deck" and listed everybody except mothers and fathers and properly raising their children. The sad part here is she should know better as she had to be raised by her grandmother. Shame shame shame.
7
As soon as they are released from the hospital the DA will send them right out to the streets.
7
I wonder when "parents" have the talk to their young sons about being careful out in the cold cruel bad world. Do they take a moment to mention things like be a good person, respect others or don't commit meaningless murders? Do they tell their sons that they not only represent themselves but their "parents" also? I think in the cases of each of these Philly murderers the answer is a hard no. That is really sad and sorry all at once.
7
Please do think before you post. First off the subject is affordable housing. This is about a group of people that have made really poor life choices. Here is a quarter, go buy a clue.
7
How much you want to bet that both of the mothers of these two low lights was on welfare the day they were born and they have multiple siblings?
6
You really have to be careful in Pottstown. Lot's of dead end people live there.
6
Does the shoe fit? What kind of mothers do you think raise these killers? They're everywhere in Philly. Toxic culture is just another word for toxic mothers in the US. It's true in Appalachia and it's true in Philadelphia.
6
What is this garbage I hear about the "birth mother" of this boy with a "troubled upbringing" trying to get a payday. I wonder what her life deal is. Why did she abandon her son? Shouldn't someone sue her for being a neglectful parent? Does she have a good excuse for abandoning her son? She is the one filing the suit against the police so she is the one putting herself out there for a pay day. What is her deal?
6
Yeah, prayers won't help. Why does Philly have so many bad mothers? All these Philly criminals are coming from somewhere.
6
@stepwindnt215NT40 You are missing the point. But that is okay because it goes with the culture of self defeat, blaming others and not accepting ones own personal responsibility. Also many of the sarcastic good things that the original commenter made are true for those AA's that don't give in to the three instances of cultural poison I mentioned.
6
Philly is such a sad tragic place. I don't see it ever getting better. All hope is lost.
6
Nice job by the cops.
6
The hopeless city of Philadelphia homicide count is now up 5% over 2021 at 87 murders for 2022. Keep up the good work you Philly mothers. Philly mothers specialize in bad parenting and high criminal offspring production. Philly mothers are renown for their abject ignorance and low standards of child care.
6
Yeah, I'm sure her family is very proud of her. One look at her and her deeds and you can tell she was raised WRONG. Sad really.
6
The curfew should also be extended to anyone with a criminal record or out on bail.
