  5. I'm a simple leftist. The aim of the left should be to actually help the people in need, without having them beg for it, without denying them on a technicality, without huge distribution costs. UBI does all of that. If you peeps don't elect Yang president, us Euros would love to import him. And if you do elect him, we will end up in a situation where we are outflanked on the left and on the libertarian side by the US at the same time XD. Can't have that... don't elect him and send him our way you selfish pricks :D.

  20. Yup, the US is at a crossroads between 1933 Nazi Germany and a slow normalization of your positions in the world. Europe and Russia have managed that transition in the past... the US can too... or you go with trumpi and hell will break loose, because we have seen in the past what happens when a country enters that transition and a party blames all the problems on the minorities and other countries.

Not a support of everything you said as I don't like those categories of pay. I'm more about providing a minimum guaranteed and have people work their way from there or even slack if that's their wish. Just my opinion. As far as the society organizing itself, if that would be the direction, I think it should be about the basics... the society working together to provide the basics and the rest of the time, people could slack or work at becoming rich if they wanted... the beauty of that is that that organization could provide the steps towards direct democracy. But I would go step by step here... first, UBI and see where that gets us. I'm not particularly annoyed at someone having a Lamborghini... as long as the rest is fed, has a decent roof, healthcare and a fighting chance from the get go to get somewhere.

  42. yah, the real forces pushing for Brexit are about reducing the regulations on corporations and taxes on the rich. The UK fisticuffs with the EU always were about the UK being more capitalist laissez-faire than the rest of the EU. And it's not just in the UK... it's about balkanizing the world and having small countries like baronies fighting each other at the game of who will offer the lowest taxes on the rich, lowest regulations on corporations and less security for workers. A game Russia is also playing because, sadly, it has all to win from alliances it's not part of being destroyed. As a seller of natural resources allied with China, Russia can not suffer of that too much for a while. Anti-globalism was always led by a bunch of insanely rich groups using all the tools that have no intellectual spine and are easily swayed by scapegoats, nationalism and all that crap. Results? Free trade hasn't lost one inch while the balkanization has increased and everybody had to abandon any focus on workers plight. It's a shitshow.

He's probably more in line with the EU where monopolies are heavily monitored and fined massively when they behave poorly.
