@CODINE80 The Euro currency was forced on Germany in order to permit the re-unification. As others have stated: Hand Germans a lemon, and they make lemonade. BTW, no one forced any other country to borrow money from Germany. Just go to the bank and borrow! And then refuse to pay it back! Good luck with that.
1
@KostasLabropoulosPatras That's war! The Germans were thusly robbed, and their economy (WW I) and country (WW II) destroyed. Did they whine and moan about it? Very little in fact; they simply got to work while others pissed and moaned, and built the best economy Europe had ever seen! As we say here: Suck it up, buttercup!
1
@KostasLabropoulosPatras Well, you (Greece) sided with the British when you might have, at the very least, stayed neutral as Spain did. You made your choice, now live with it. Why did you not borrow money from your great friend and benefactor Britain???
1
@KostasLabropoulosPatras Well, you see now what that got you.

Read: "Other Losses".
1
You think in the democracies the soldiers were all volunteers? Those who did volunteer were unemployed.
1
Rhine Meadows Camps, ever heard of them? Read "Other Losses".
1
Sure, with communist police battalions in the rear that would shoot any soldier that made a move to surrender or retreat. The USSR troops would have been much, much, better off had they marched directly to Moscow, and executed the war mongers.
1
Especially with a gun held on their back!
1
Envious, much?
1
Well, we see the results of that victory now. The western world is turning to crap around you. Enjoy!
1
They were movies, recorded as real images on celluloid strip.
1
With the result that the modern western world is turning into a cesspool. So much for victory of the allies who are unable to run a lemonade stand in the desert.
1
Ugly face = ugly soul.
1
The wars were forced on Germany!
1
@ggsay1687 With 10 to 1 odds, the Germans did very well indeed. How long would you last fighting 6 punks? 30 seconds?
1
@ggsay1687 Keep that in mind the next time you get mugged. Then you will see how smart you are.
1
The most courageous lion eventually succumbs to a pack of jackals.
1
@michaelengel3407 Germany was the most peaceful country in Europe. All wars were forced by allies war mongers Churchill and Roosevelt.
1
@halloduuuu1 That it was, but not for the reasons you think.
1
That's because the western allies and the communists were on the same side, destroying Germany.
1
@cybercipher5770 Dummkopf. Du weisst garnichts.
1
@pit9623 In so many words you are saying that Germany got its just rewards. Anyone who knows anything about those times knows that this is nonsense ie. unsinn.
1
@pit9623 Of course Germans followed the regime, because it was visibly improving the standard of living for the working man. Germans looked the other way on what? The supposed disappearance of the holy 6 million? All I have ever seen is endless caterwauling, arm waving, crocodile tears, synthetic outrage and, nowadays, murderous excursions by the chosen few. But nary one iota of verifiable authentic forensic evidence. Without forensic evidence it did not happen.
1
The hate filled propaganda was in the USA and Britain. Even Churchill wrote that the German newspapers were more truthful than the allies'.
1
A means to what end? Endless profits for bankers and M-I complex?
1
Rubbish!
1
Fact is the allies did randomly destroy things and people. Including children at play in very small cities.
1
Sure, sure! Those pooor Polish choir boys, right? NOT!
1
You forgot the little fact that all the allies had declared war on Germany, or had mobilized to invade it. In your view the victim is the bad party. So be it.
1
@phlm9038 Bullshit!
1
@SK-qc6fb Rubbish!
1
@SK-qc6fb Are you feverish? You certainly have weird imagination. And a faulty perception of facts.
1
@mikeggg5671 If the DDR was such a paradise, why did so many wish to leave?
1
@mikeggg5671 Your answer is too simplistic. In a communist country you are told what to do. "They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work". In a capitalist country the individual has many choices to make, every day! And many of those choices have very long term consequences. Not everybody is comfortable doing this day in and day out. I do agree that the blatant materialism and American propaganda (lies) are tiresome. But I am free to conduct my personal life as I please.
1
@mikeggg5671 I agree with you! I have done business in the USA, and as long as you agree with the Americans, all is well! Just try a different opinion and you are called a racist, communist, nazi. etc. or whatever a tiny mind can conjure.
1
Russia today is not Germany in 1939. Putin has thousands of nuclear missels at his disposal.
1
You're joking, right?
1
mcnasty: Thank you for writing the truth.
1
The USSR was COMMUNIST! They murdered their own citizens by the tens of millions.
1
Not likely; but it would have been an improvement over the bestial English.
1
@harmdallmeyer6449 You would be wrong. Both my parents became adults and were married during the war. Additionally my mother was from a very large family even by German standards of the time. And all related similar stories to me.
1
@harmdallmeyer6449 No one wrote anything about a luxurious life. But, compared to the life of the working man in the USA at that time, the German worker had a good life.
1
@harmdallmeyer6449 I was writing more about the 1930's, the mid 1930's to be more specific, when things went very well for Germany and its people. But even during the war things were not as bad as they were made out to be. My parents were married in 1942 and spent their honeymoon travelling throughout Germany. Food and accommodation were not a problem for them. For restaurant meals one simply handed over the appropriate ration coupon for whatever went into that meal. Easy. According to my mother the real starvation of the public was not until 1947.
1
@harmdallmeyer6449 Rights of the German worker were cut??? Where do you get that idea? Gun ownership laws were eased tremendously for German citizens of good standing. Foreign holidays were affordable on cruise ships for the working man. (KDF program). Housing was being built at a great pace, and garden plots were made available for apartment dwellers in the large cities. The there were the cultural events that became affordable to the working class. My father fought on the eastern front to keep the communists from invading Germany and western Europe. He got furlough to get married and go on a honeymoon. My mother was nursing director and got holidays for the same.
1
@TeaParty1776 You certainly do not have a clue what you are talking about.
1
@TeaParty1776 Let me begin by stating that Judea, France, Britain, the USA de facto, declared war on Germany. Judea already in 1933. The non-combatant countries in Europe either sided with Britain (Belgium and Holland) or were about to be invaded and occupied by Britain (Norway and Denmark). Finally, the Soviet Union was poised to invade Germany and western Europe. Germany struck a preemptory strike to stop that. Your next question would be but but but, what about Poland and its invasion by Germany? To answer that I suggest you read "Polish Atrocities Against the German Minority in Poland. Now, aren't you glad you asked? If you wish I can cite a number of books for further information, but google and wiki will suffice for the most basic questions.
1
@TeaParty1776 Prattling is cheap. I can cite numerous sources for my assertions. You may begin by googling "Judea Declares War on Germany". This in 1933 already.

Educate yourself and read about Rhine Meadows Camps.
