  1. Well, my parents became adults during that time and were married in 1942. According to them and many relatives (I have 32 first cousins on my mother's side alone), there was peace, order, and good government under the NSDAP government. Unemployment was practically eliminated by 1936, and there was enough food for everybody until 1946. All this at a time when the democratic countries were still mired in the great Depression.
