  2. The closest I came was St Louis. That was an odd list, totally unexpected. I assumed people wanted to leave extremely expensive cities along with cities that are getting worse. However, during my guessing, I knew that Detroit would not make the list. My prediction is that it will be a go to destination in 2050, if I am still alive to see it.

  4. R. Pres. KC, MO, more so on the east side, will not enable you to save money, due to the high crime rate. Tulsa is a better bet IMO. Dallas could save one money who relocated from OC, California, but the days of the under 250 k houses are probably over.

  31. Small towns closer to Omaha do not care for outsiders, so I am not too sure it would be any better for one to randomly chose a small town in Western NE. The scenery is interesting in various parts, but there is at least 3 hours between the far western reaches and the front range.

My guesses in no order: winter rain, cost of living, Ca transplants, opium addiction, homelessness, political strife left more or less in the west and the right in the eastern part, political strife within Portland proper, suicide rate higher than average, higher taxes, Oregon State Football (no offense, I like my shirt though and I still root for them), and craft beer snobbery.

  35. There is also an East NY and it is actually in NYC, which I would guess is more dangerous, from what I remembered in the late 80s. Belle Mead, NJ is nice I am assuming based on what I remembered, and that name was good for that area. However, I seriously doubt you can even get a mailbox there for 70 K, unlike Belle Mead, TX Seriously almost guessed Newburgh, NY. I have not visited there for 30 years, and even back then, there were parts that were sketchy. Too bad, because the city actually sits in a nice location in the Hudson Valley, and is not far from NYC. It also is near 84 and 87, where the later will take you right to NYC. 9 West goes through there too. Wondering if there are residents there that once lived in the city, but the high cost of living drove them out. People I still know on the east coast told me it has become the new Harlem or South Bronx.

  36. I heard both, but have also heard people say IOWAY for Iowa and ILLINOISE for ILLINOIS. On the east coast I heard locals from NH refer to Concord as Concad and people from North Jersey say NORK for Newark

  42. Jonathan Culbertson True In many parts, but northern Arizona is cooler year round and has areas that are forested with pines and aspens. The Flagstaff area is different as well as areas along the Colorado Plateau. However, it is still dry overall, and dehydration can kick in. Conditions within a mine underground can expose one to warmer temperatures even in cooler surroundings. If you have been to Phoenix in the summer, then you can easily die of heatstroke, not so much at this time.

  47.  @Al-ky7xj  That is mostly along the urban parts along the 1-95 corridor. It is a totally different world once you go to the more western part of the state (I. e., Somerset, Hunterdon, Sussex counties).

  48.  @eileenkenney5697  I remember when I was a kid in the 80s both towns were nicer. Haven’t lived back east since, but there are several places in the SW USA and eastern CA that are rundown too.
