  12. That lighthouse is probably not in Bridgeport. Surprised that Bridgeport has not made a comeback. Black Rock was ok and the north end was not too bad. The town borders Fairfield to the southwest and Trumbull to the north. Stratford is to the northeast with less sketchier areas. Highway 8 and 25 were decent north south roads and the train was a little over an hour to NYC. I remembered the taxes were extremely high though. Have not lived in CT since 91 because of that.

  25. Not sure because there are a huge amounts of small towns in the US, but if I had to pick a few from first hand experience I would say: Mojave, CA, Lordsburg,, NM, Tucumcari, NM, Blythe, CA, Yuma, AZ, Wenden, AZ, Fredonia, AZ, Pine Ridge, SD, Red Oak, IA, and Silt, CO.

  35. Ā @AdamSmith-gs2dvĀ  That is what I dealt with for 15 years. Denver 540 miles, Chicago 475 miles, Minneapolis 380 miles, Milwaukee 500 miles, KC 200 miles (but who cares). Also property taxes are horrendous and there have been winter days that are too cold for snow. Humid summers too, and can even reach triple digits. The positives are as follows: Nice downtown for a few blocks, Neale Woods, Fontanelle Forest, nice zoo, the Ponca Hills section, the UNO area, and the Loess Hills east of the Missouri River. Not much else, and the aforementioned can be done in a day.

  37. It is the polar opposite of Denver and only 70 miles south along 25. It is more like an Idaho or Utah town sans the illegal recreational marijuana. It is safer than Denver and less expensive. I chose the Tucson, AZ area to relocate to 8 years ago over the Springs.

Guessing: High Property Taxes, High Housing costs in over 90 percent of the state, drugs, lack of suitable employment upstate, crime (especially in NYC, and smaller cities upstate), winters can be brutal especially upstate, depression, traffic in the city, road construction in and outside of NYC, and it is politically dichotomous (greater NYC area versus somewhere upstate 350 miles away),
