yes, one language, religion (c of e), culture, traditions, head of state, a shared history. It was never a myth. If you travel to Gibraltar or York. You know which country you are in.
1
Sheep farmers in wales have made a fortune. Even the rubbish ones. However, when we were in the EU it was the opposite.
1
...So marxists ideology is good! And the Bible is bad? Personally I prefer the Bible.
1
@grahamlees4394 PR was how Hitler came to power. And look at Italy now its a mess, nothing can get done. Under fptp you typically get strong governments and extremists parties are normally not represented!! My MP is also directly answerable to ME!! I can wright him a letter and go around his house.
1
@seang2700 I can write my MP a letter and he is directly answerable to his constituencies. Eg ME!!
1
@47Seagull The Weimar Republic, thats what it brings. Weak governance, political colapse and extremists. 50 years of prosperity. PR works fine in good times, when times are bad you are looking down the barrel of civil war!!
1
@seang2700 it works!! Seriously!! why do you the Brexiteers were so organised? Very angry letters to their MPs!!
1
@battybibliophile-Clare Thanks to the government's 100 billion pound energy subsidy my energy bills have barely moved. That's hardly tax cuts for the rich is it?
1
@seang2700 In terms of a complete democracy, is that even wise? Is the "mob" always correct? No is the answer. Why do have a queen? Why do we have a house of Lords? Very sensible logical answer exist for for both.
1
@seang2700 The mob isn't always correct. Infact its often wrong. That what the commons represents. The mob. That's why we have a lords, it can debate issues sensibly free from the "mob mentality" and political biases. They are not motivated by re election and should be free to think what is best for the country. Its clever!!
1
@seang2700 Do you really want a complete democracy. No!! Judith at number 39 with a iq of 69 running the country? No. It needs balancing out!!
1
How was locking down the country and destroying the economy critical thinking?
1
@veganbarnsley15 Scottish nationalism is fine. The far left encouraged it. English nationalism however is far right and evil. My evidence is that you perceive Scottish independence is good. While the English led Brexit is bad. You make no sense.
1
What exactly has this to do with Brexit?
1
What exactly is "far right"?The majority of what the conservatives are currently doing was standard policy during the Major and Blair years. People have just lost the plot.
1
Farage has very powerful friendships with Musk and Trump. He is going to create utter chaos for both the Torys and Labour party in the coming years.
1
Didn't Blair want to leave the ECHR too? "Tony Blair is planning a radical overhaul of Britain's controversial human rights legislation after claims that the present laws put the rights of criminals above those of victims. In a move which brought immediate criticism from human rights' experts, the Prime Minister wants the government to have the power to override court rulings" The Guardian 2006 Its not different, laws that can't be changed because of foreign judges!!
1
How our media has covered the rioters in India and England appears to be very different.
1
His aunty was also a avid nazi, but let's not mention that.
1
Hmmm I don't really care Prince Charles is in Germany, im sick of them being on the TV. Maybe he should spend some time in Australia or New Zealand because they are going to kick him out if he doesn't.
1
As people age, they naturally turn towards religion. Without it, people really struggle. As we've left Christian ideas behind, society is collapsing before our eyes.
1
@MattWhite-vh6xh ...and how is Great Britain doing at the moment? Culturally? Politically? and economically? It's lost. Boomers have forgotten the lessons your parents learned after the wars and utterly destroyed this country.
1
@MattWhite-vh6xh You are the same age as my dad. I look at my generation, and we have nothing to hold us together. We are utterly fractured and depressed. The family, marriage, country, god. All these institutions have been completely erroded and my generation are completely lost.
1
They are crazy. And its becoming more and more obvious that they do not want the west to win.
1
It will tip a large number of already struggling private schools over the edge. A lot of high-profile private institutions are going to disappear, and combine this with middle-class families struggling with a cost of living crisis. It's going to be a blood bath.
1
Our economy was booming before mass migration. In the 90s, when we were doing the best, it was 48000. It only started to tank from around 2005 onwards when Blair opened the door to it. Your argument makes no sense.
1
I don't watch GB news. And I genuinely have no clue what Boris Johnsons opinion is. However, race baiters like Diane Abbot. Youtubers like Femi and Novra media. They continually play the victim card. They are the problem and are obsessed with categorising people down race and gender lines. What we are seeing isn't facism. It's marxism. The ideas of equality, victim and oppressor have infiltrated our establishment. These people are forming gangs for protection and following the inevitable end game of the ideas of marx, you probably cannot blame them.
1
Boris achieved Brexit, Sturgeon can't even balance a budget. They currently going through huge austerity.
1
How does trickle up economics work? 25% of the population produce 75% of the taxes and economic productivity.
1
Alot conservative mps seems to be missing in action. Esther mcvey appears to be spending more time on GB news than representing her constituency. They don't give a monkeys.
1
Why are you bothered about farmers? They occupy 1% of the population. Good farmers dont want support. They typically want to be left alone. Which is not happening.
1
Did the unelected Dame Smith ever pay for the two porn videos she claimed on parlimentry expenses? I can't remember.
1
SNP? I'm genuinely lost for words.
1
...they could just start with a recruitment drive? It's just an idea.
1
@redbruce1999 They planned to abolish inheritance tax and cut national insurance
1
@steverichmond7142 You are already in austerity. You have over spent by over 3 billion.
1
@steverichmond7142 Really I think the organisers of the Edinburgh fringe will disagree with you. The piles up rubbish in the street are clearly disinformation.
1
@steverichmond7142 my opinion is you have exactly same issues as the majority of England. Its just the people in Westminster are forced to be more accountable. Which is a good thing!!
1
@steverichmond7142 Accountability? We get rid of them very quickly if they do a bad job. You saw that with Boris. No one is really interested in Scottish politics, its dull!!
1
Wrong. 2016 milk 15p. 2023 40p per litre. That's a boom.
1
The only industry that really benifited from the EU was Londons finance sector. Everything else was chucked under a bus.
1
@MissFlight-q8fMost of the demand is homegrown. Interestingly we produce enough basic food to feed everyone. If all the farmers go it will be a disaster and lead to huge price inflation.
1
@MissFlight-q8fWe are a very small island too
1
The army needs to ditch "woke." The latest recruitment add was awful. They need to realise that young northern English lads are not going to follow a fat, diverse woman of colour into battle.
1
Marx often is. And that is a silly belief system. So why can't the bible?
1
If we want to maintain our way of life we need an army to protect it. Russia is winning.
1
£42 million? What? Why is supporting Labour then? Is she mental?
1
£42 million? Her obsession with the EU makes sense now. She's probably lost £500 000 pounds worth of free annual subsidies.
1
johnslavin2270 The seven years rule still exists. It is how my dad got the farm off my grandad in the 70s. The inheritance tax exemption everyone is discussing only came into law in the early 90s.
1
The USA has the capacity to end the war when ever it wants. They want it to drag on. I mean, Russia can hardly start ww3 if all its resources are bogged down in Ukraine, can it? Extending Natos borders and bogging them down in Ukraine, from our viewpoint, is a strategic master stroke.
