  4. It's understandable. Ukrainians are on the defense and the entrenchments are the defense/fortification lines so that is where they must hold back the Russians. We are told that there are no fortifications again till the Dnipro River. So this has to be their final defense line for the Donbass. If they fallback then that territory is surrendered to the Donbass militias. Rock and a hard place.

  8. Thank goodness that the EU has relaxed the darned sanctions and to acknowledge they can't/mustn't rope in the global South. Cyril Ramaphosa has acknowledged that African countries need to become self-sufficient in food. Looking forward to see our food and energy bills going down. Now for the weapons, remains to be seen. EU should "separate" from US and UK ASAP.

  15. It reminds me of a "World at War" programme where Germans had penetrated deep into the Russian steppe land very quickly. Then Winter snows came and Russian Winter Fighters, dressed all in white gear, started picking off the lines of Germans on retreat, whose equipment no longer worked on the roads and fields. Even where Germans used horses. Winters are very cold and snows are very deep. Russia is biding time and saving its Soldiers (falling back/giving way). They will take ALL the territory lost back. They've already mobilized. Armaments already enroute and many Soldiers amassing on borders and in new Russian territories. It's just a matter of time. No doubt whatsoever. First, Putin will have to address the Annexation question at UNSC within 2 weeks.

  21. The French still have Colonies. They know what the US are doing and what happened to the British Empire the last time Europeans were at war. There's a higher chance of FR losing more than the status quo if UA conflict continues. The nuance is a worry of its hold on these colonial "sphere-of-influence" which will definitely fall, and happen sooner, should the conflict extend to bring in other South countries over time.
