I enjoyed episode 1 - my biggest issue with it was that the orange-haired girl in it seems to be good at everything rather than having a specific strength that compliments the team. It's a little Mary-Sue-ish.

Just keep playing guys - maybe people will forget we're here - The most persistent classical quartet in cinema history.
1
The sad thing is there's probably quite a smart, funny and insightful show to be written about the legal repercussions of super-hero shenanigans - but of course, that would require some effort, intelligence and moral compass. Not just cheap CGI lazy writing and vast doses of "the message".
1
"Reality really does come at ya hard" I was vastly disappointed that there wasn't a joke about Tatiana there.
1
@kenjohnson3947 Thank you for being so honest in admitting you have never once in your life ever questioned the official line you were fed on anything.
1
@AEgir347 Of course - don't you think we should try to understand how terrible things came to happen?
1
@kenjohnson3947 I'm afraid if you mock people who say they want to hear both sides of a story - you do rather invite ridicule from those with a brain.
1
It sums up his whole career - it looked so promising, then. . . . .just. . . . . fuck.
1
Having just heard about "The Proud Family" - I honestly can't wait for Disney to just die. It's fallen so far from what Walt originally created I don't think it can be saved anymore.
1
Did your wife's boyfriend train you to say that?

What people always respond to - is timeless, compelling stories: in a setting that speaks of a distinct cultural tradition. That's why people can love both Lord of the Rings and Manga. What they don't respond to shallow writing in a setting that is deliberately stripped of all uniqueness in a quest to be everything and nothing.
1
@undergrounddojokeyboardcag701 I'm not terribly interested in your - "Every culture except the west fits woke ideology" cliché. It's a fantasy promoted by leftist western academics like Margaret Mead who projected their own politics on to the peoples they studied. They wrote their conclusions first and then went to look for "evidence" to support it. That's not how you're supposed to do history, and real historians like John Keegan do a very good job of demonstrating the flaws with them. Fortunately people like you who think everything should be a tedious toxic preach-fest: seem to be losing. People can smell bullshit, and they vote with their wallets. I'll stick with Ghostbuster 1984, and you can have Ghostbusters 2016.
1
Just think how much more entertainment Critical Drinker has provided than this series, and for a miniscule fraction of the cost.
1
Every year. I fall for something. Every. Single. Year.
1
I don't mind if a movie decides to place style over substance. Space empire needs to steal peasant grain? OK. Coal-fired spaceships? Whatever. What you are not allowed to be though - is boring.
1
What a tough guy Will Smith is - punching a guy half his size for making a joke. And of course, this being Hollywood, there will be. . . . . . .no charges. Because heaven forbid the liberal elites might ever be held responsible for their actions.
1
@blazejefferson OK mister "aktshcully aktshully" - I really can't be bothered to argue with autistic people who don't understand money.
1
@Costelad When did I ever say that? Why can't people do basic reading and comprehension anymore. 🙄
1
@joshuawood1436 "Stand alone franchises liek ironman" Lol - you don't even understand the concept of a "Cinematic universe" do you kid?"
1
@SonGoku-tp8gb Hollywood is a business. It's bout making money. Would you like me to bring in glove puppets to explain this to you?
1
@SonGoku-tp8gb Calm down kid, this isn't your gender studies class. No one cares that you don't understand Hollywood is a business. We find it baffling that a supposed adult can be that silly, but it's really not a problem for anyone but you.
1
I hate to be a downer - but she's a hooker: figuring out what men want and telling them what they want to hear, is literally what she does for a living. I'd have said whatever I had to say to get me out of there too.
1
Even though they never get as many views, I appreciate that Drinker highlights the good movies rather than going for the easy clicks of "everything's terrible".
1
Would it really be SO hard to have a bounty-hunter do some actual. . . . . . . . .*bounty hunting*?
1
Why do you watch the channel then?
1
“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” ― George Orwell That's what modern "culture" is, it's about smashing up your history and your heritage to make you forget all the "old" stuff.
1
@bennyboylabs Well she likes to tell everyone she has creative input into the films she's in (as she did with the last Bond) - so either she's lying in which case why employer her at all, or she's telling the truth and has to take some of the blame.
1
This film sounds like the epitome of - "Because the script needs the rest of the plot to happen"
1
There's an absolute desperation on the part of certain people (not all of them black) to believe that sub-Saharan Africa had an importance in world history that it quite simply did not have.
1
So they start the film with 5 wanted stars?
1
Being "better than expected", is pretty damn good given what we were all led to expect.
1
"Tolkien was a genius, a polygot, a great intellect, extremely religious and one very hard-working man" Yeah - but the people who wrote rings of power, have degrees in "diversity inclusion and equity", or "DIE".
1
"the world is still heavily based on patriarchy" No. It really isn't. It wouldn't have given an avowed feminist half a billion dollars to make a film that's all about hating men if it were. Our civilisation was vastly healthier before feminism.
1
"No one's going to be winning any Oscars for this" For reasons that have nothing to do with quality - no it definitely won't!
1
People are indeed virgins until they have sex. Great observation there She-Hulk.
1
Who'd have thought the scenes written for them by one of the greatest writers of the 20th century: would turn out better than the one's created by generic hacks. . . . . . . .
1
When did company bosses stop responding to unproductive employees "demanding" things by laughing and telling security to escort them from the building? Ah yes - when the globalist elites started imposing "ESG" scores. . . . . .
1
@ShadowSonic2 Drinker has explained many, many times the difference between compelling and poor character development. The fact that your only response to ALL of that analysis is a mindless SJW brain-fart, tells us you are not a person worth listening to.
1
@user-qp5xh9ky4t "it's okay to think for yourself" . . . . . . .says the man who binge-watches vast amounts of factory-produced woke slop: and then whines that I should stop being so mean to the vast mega-corporations that have taken a huge steaming dump all over western culture while telling me that I'm the problem. Some of us ended the metaphorical abusive relationship the MSM wants to keep us in, and have moved on. You're like a battered wife that keeps going back again and again because the guy bought you flowers and said he was going to change.
1
@user-qp5xh9ky4t ""abusive relationships"???? are you high" It's called a metaphor. I didn't occur to me I'd need to explain that concept to an adult.
1
@thedeltastrat How can you say turds don't taste good when you haven't tasted every turd?
1
@thedeltastrat "because they've been scientifically proven to be bad for you" So has Coke Cola. Come on mr autism - How do you know they next turd you sample won't be delicious and nutritious?
1
@thedeltastrat It's called a "heuristic", a mental short-cut to reduce cognitive load. You know that turds are highly unlikely to taste good, and I know that mass-produced blue-pill TV from Disney, is highly unlikely to be enjoyable for me to watch: particularly if my favourite critic doesn't rate it. You live with your assumptions, and I'll live with mine,.
1
@user-qp5xh9ky4t "someone doesn't need to take it literally" And yet somehow - you managed it.
1
@epicmusic9029 "all he reviews in modern movies is franchise films and one or two other films" He's reviewed (positively) three movies that do not fit that description just in the last three weeks. Everything Everywhere All At Once, Northman, and Whiplash. Three. In three weeks. You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.
1
@OreoOreoCookie234 "You base your facts off of others opinions" That's literally the point of watching a REVEIW from a REVIEWER. If someone lobotomized you with a rusty hook, your IQ level would not change one single point would it?
1
@AK-vj9uu Oh dear - I've triggered another snowflake by not sharing its addiction to generic corporate slop. Nice avatar by the way - I though flaming skulls looked cool when I was 11 too.
1
@AK-vj9uu Whatever kiddo. 847 people understood the point I was making. I don't really care that much if you and a couple of other fan-boy zombies are triggered that I don't want to join you in wasting my life consuming 40 hours a week of formulaic corporate slop.
1
@epicmusic9029 Sounds like this Jahn guy is a lot more your cup of tea. You enjoy watching him.
1
@CeCe1066 1100 people agree with me. So I'll hang with them, and you hang with the other cattle who mindlessly eat whatever the corporations feed you. Remember - support the latest thing, consume next product, and only trust official information.
