They think men can have babies, don't try to make sense of any of their nonsense.

You say it like it's a bad thing, but "ultra pedantic" is part of why we're all here! Pedantry is a tough job, but someone has to do it!
142
@CMA418 a little less than 90% of the world is religious in some capacity, if you think they're all crazy, and you have it all figured out, then you're definitely the crazy one. And I'm saying this as an atheist, I'm just not a delusional antitheist who thinks I have all the answers.
99
This isn't the flex that the rainbow mafia thinks it is, most of the time people were "gay" in antiquity it was really just about power, let's just say it wasn't always 2 consenting adults.
97
@Libertinus79 I heard racists drink water too, do you drink water? Do you?????
88
Better be careful Meta, you don't want her to take away your medieval toys.
46
@tom4aot but he's not suggesting that the natives couldn't have built ancient megaliths, he's just pointing out that the evidence isn't that solid, and they could have been built much earlier. That wouldn't denigrate ancient societies in any way, quite the contrary. It would mean they could have been more advanced than we give them credit for. Trying to turn this into a racial issue is incredibly ignorant at best, and maliciously dishonest at worst. Which one are you? Ignorant, or dishonest? At least one of those things is necessarily true.
43
@Stephanie-we5ep I always find that amusing too, the "I trust the science" types are the most closed minded to anything that pushes back against the status quo. Anyone who actually values science should understand that science isn't static, it's rarely "settled", new things are being discovered every day.
43
@spiffygonzales5160 if you asked most Americans, they would probably say that he fought for black rights. Which is not true, and never what his message was. He fought for equal rights.
41
I love it when they lecture you about not stereotyping people, while repeating all of the exact same talking points and checking absolutely every stereotype box.
37
Because many of them have staked their entire career to the established series of events. They can't just admit one thing was wrong, that would mean other things are also wrong, which would call their entire career into question.
35
Reminds me of when they cried racism because stores were keeping the "black hair products" locked up. Because they were among the most frequently stolen items🤣🤣🤣 sometimes real life is funnier than the best fictional comedies.
31
@tom4aot and he's also theorized that ancient European structures like Stonehenge are older than academia suggests, is that racist? Or is it ok, because they were white people?
30
@FINNIUSORION yea the character assassination Graham has been subjected to is reprehensible. Maybe you disagree with his theories, maybe you think he's a quack, but that doesn't mean he's a racist or a bad person, I've seen no evidence that he's bigoted in any way, and from what I've judged about his character he seems like a pretty good dude that's just trying to learn more about the ancient world.
28
@OutsiderLabs and they're also met with a great deal of pushback, and it often takes a long time before their theories are actually given the appropriate amount of investigation. Many of them are dead before their discoveries are proven correct.
28
You don't have to believe Hancock's theories, they are pretty out there, but anyone should be able to admit that many of the smears against him have been off the rails, viscious, and purely motivated out of career survival, not principle. A lot of theories seemed more outrageous when they were first proposed, and ended up being true.
25
American universities are overrun with activists, it's nearly impossible to get anywhere in academia if you don't play ball, and "play ball" means carry water for far left ideology. It's really sickening. Politics should not be forefront in universities, except in courses that deal with politics, and even then, they should be teaching what happened, and what other people believe. Not telling the students what to believe.
25
"A peculiar creature, and wondrous indeed. We keep learning more about them, but there's still so much more we don't know".
24
@iivin4233 I think you're confusing race with ethnicity, the lines are often blurred. Biological race absolutely does exist, a forensic scientist would be able to determine if deceased remains are African, European, or Asian in origin, based on the bone structure. Determining whether they're from China or Thailand may be more difficult, but determining that they're from Asian descent would be easy.
24
No way man, imagine that kind of power in the hands of someone like Alex Pereira. He already has that chama power🤣
23
@tom4aot pure projection, you're the one arguing in bad faith here, by assuming his motivations that you can't possibly know without reading his mind. I've never heard him even suggest any kind of racial element to his theories, and you haven't either, you're completely fabricating that to fit your narrative.
22
Say what you will about Italians, but where there's a will, there's a way to get pasta sauce.
22
@TheElitedeath you can change the words all you want, but that doesn't change basic biology.
21
@SavageHenry777 grifter is when thing I don't like.
20
@tom4aot it's a good thing that's not what he's suggesting at all, he's only stating the fact that we don't have any real proof of who built these ancient structures, and how. Right now the running theory is a whole shitload of manpower, and that may be true, but it hasn't been proven.
19
They want to make the conversation or argument about you defending yourself against accusations, so they can avoid actually defending their indefensible positions.
15
It's the soy.
14
@Johnreal332 people like to think they have the whole world figured out. It's really as simple as that.
14
@firingallcylinders2949 nobody even saw it, they just knew. Some grandma was miles away in Sicily when someone broke some spaghetti, she instantly stopped what she was doing and declared war.
14
@eddiel7635 you're right, and that would all be completely fine if they were more transparent and told you that conjecture was conjecture. The evidence is so scarce, we have no choice but to speculate about a lot of things, and that's fine, as long as you don't present it as fact.
12
@Bramble451 it doesn't have to be some carefully orchestrated conspiracy, their career and reputation relies on maintaining the status quo of the accepted timeline of civilization. There's not really a whole lot of dots to connect to figure out why they would want to detract anyone that threatens that.
12
I have to imagine the first quick, scoring strike was probably the end of most ancient fencing. Crazy bastards.
12
@n.a.4292 I dunno, I think there is a way you can do a sort of "cliff notes" with history, as long as you're honest about it and straight forward, make sure it's known that you aren't giving the full details, just the skeletal main points. But I get your point too, I just think it's a little too broad.
11
@tom4aot you referenced his work, and then editorialized by adding your own speculation about his personal views, which is completely irrelevant to any of his scientific claims. And ironically, you're complaining about him making speculations.
10
@HansWurst-po3bd yea buddy, everything is exactly as the establishment tells you it is, nobody has ever been wrong about history before, and nobody has ever lied.
10
@alexanderthegreat4103 I'm getting irritated because you're being dishonest. That would irritate any rational person, no matter who the person in question is.
9
@jjbees7911 there is evidence. You may not think it's enough good evidence to make a conclusion, that's your opinion, but to say there's no evidence is just plain dishonest.
9
@justineczarnobyl9987 it always blows my mind when people act like we have all the answers now, when thats never been true at any point in human history.
9
@hollywoodpineapple8337 it's not a matter of perspective, it's a matter of accuracy. Equal rights is a consistent message, it means equal for everyone, it doesn't matter who's perceived as above or below. That's the whole point. Nobody is supposed to be seen as above or below, according to inherent characteristics.
9
Some of it is just career driven, if your entire career is staked on the established timeline of history, you're going to be hostile towards anything that contradicts that, you have a financial motive. But it's also political.
8
Do you just spam the same bullshit on every one of his videos? Your mom called, she said your hot pockets have cooled down enough, and you can safely eat them now.
8
@tom4aot yes, I don't like liars. I'm not going to apologize for that, or be shamed for it either, if you've happened to notice a lot of people having a similar attitude towards you, it's probably because you lie too much.
8
@FirstLast-wk3kc observation of reality? Are you refusing to acknowledge that people don't want their work to be discredited?
8
@Tlevids you couldn't possibly be more wrong, there was absolutely a great deal of pushback in academia for many years after GT was discovered, and yes, new discoveries are embraced, but usually only after a period of pushback and even hostility. And waiting for enough evidence is one thing, but people of your mindset often ignore all inconvenient evidence, because you don't want to feel like you were wrong.
8
@sjm9876 honestly I've always thought spaghetti was overrated. It's pasta, it all tastes the same, it's just in different shapes. Why would you use noodle that requires 2 utensils to eat properly, that doesn't hold any sauce, when you can just use penne or macaroni and use a spoon or a fork? Maybe this is my American talking, but I just prefer noodle shapes that aren't a pain in the ass.
8
Right, when he has nobody to push back and fact check him in real time.
8
@drewbydoobydoo2918 that's not a very honest hypothetical though, because we haven't excavated anywhere close to 99% of all ancient ruins, and we probably never will. Ancient history is like a 1,000 piece puzzle that we only have about 100 pieces to. We have to fill in a lot of the gaps with assumptions, and that's fine, because it's the best thing we have, but anyone that's being honest will acknowledge that a lot of established world history is based on assumptions. So we shouldn't dismiss theories off hand because they sound crazy, or because they contradict conventional knowledge, because a lot of those theories have ended up to be accepted as true in the past.
8
Uh oh, watch out with that. You're probably going to get attacked by the "everything academia says is correct" army.
8
@soulknife20 in a lot of cases, it is exact. Obviously it would be more difficult if someone was Asian and African mixed, but they would still be able to determine that they're Asian and African mixed.
8
@soulknife20 there's that conflation of race and ethnicity again. And you're telling other people they don't know what they're talking about. A German and a Spaniard are ethnically different, but racially the same.
