  2. Utah has allowed teachers to conceal carry for 12 years already. If this idiot does pass ban legislation, it is pretty much guaranteed this will be his last time in congress. Ohio is coming around as well as other states with many other teachers applying for conceal carry. This is great for America in the spirit of Joe Myrick. These teachers really do care about their kids just like the lady who charged lanza unarmed. Give that lady a gun in that same situation and the result is different.

Virginia Tech has a police force on school property but it is no way a "Swat Team". Ultimately the biggest reason for so many children dying was that the school/police officers did not issue a warning when they discovered two bodies in the dorm room. Joe Myrick, Vice Principle of Pearl River High actually apprehended the shooter.

No gun makes you a victim in a given situation. Do you believe that if guns became illegal here, that criminals would up their activities or decrease them? Yes, those types of weapon purchases are illegal and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Government just doesn't prosecute these types of crimes that often :)

Their culture is different than ours and as you can see, not much has really changed over there, not substantial enough. However, what has changed is rape and violent acts. Rape increased from 97-07 from 78 to 94 per 100,000. Assault increased from 623 to 843 per 100,000 in 07. So low rate of murder to begin with and is still reflected before and after the ban.
