@audreyr.johnson8965 ... interesting. i never heard that before. i had my first surgery at 6 months old in 1958. of course, i remember nothing about it. had several surgeries throughout the 60's and 70's. no one ever told me, as a 6 month old i didn't recieve anesthesia. i never even thought to ask. it never occurred to me such a thing might've even been contemplated, much less done. so, i'm not saying i out and out believe you. but you've given me something to think about and research. thanks for that info. odd, and sad, as a child i recieved the best medical attention anyone could hope for. as adult i'm denied medical attention on a regular basis and have been abused by the medical industry for decades. morons keep praising all the medical innovations over the last few decades. but what good are all these advancements if they aren't available to those who need them? nope, at best, they now push DRUGS, dangerous and addictive drugs as a cure all for EVERYTHING! i'm not even offered these drugs! the medical industry, led by corporate america and the AMA, is a gangster organiztion that puts profit and power over medical ethics. i agree. contact was a fine and enjoyable film. even its triple fake endings. if they can hear us, then we could hear them. and since we've never recieved ANY communications, radio or otherwise, from other civilizations then maybe there ain't any civilizations within that range to communicate with. the possibility that there's actually advanced life within a reasonable range of us is becoming less and less likely. it's time we stop worrying about this crap and wasting our VERY LIMITED funds on such nonsense. LET'S FIX OUR PROBLEMS here on earth. and stop finding excuses to spend money on things that DETRACTS from this goal. in other words, we need to STOP listening to rich a-holes and doing whatever the hell they want done! here's an IDEA! let's do things RIGHT for once!

i know why he lost half of your subscribers. its because most americans don't want fair elections. they want elections where their prejudices, absurdities and delusions have the advantage. through generations of "american exceptionalism" propaganda they consider anything foreign influenced as anti-american. and why would any political party want to change or abolish a system that gives them power? right now the GOP controls about 5 states in which they're a MINORITY! they will never relinquish power voluntarily. also, many fascists have learned that pushing their propaganda through the schools and education system gives them eventual polititical power at the polls. other fascists have learned that controling the judicial system and the judges guarantees them political power. who needs elections when you can just corrupt the schools and the courts to further your agenda? lastly, the u. s. has never been a democracy. its been an oligarchic republic since its inception. we have a two party monopoly in this country. and MONEY decides our elections and corrupts both our economic and political systems. the rich choose our candidates. incumbants win 95% of the times. and the candidate that recieves the most money in donations win 95% of the time. and usually its the incumbant who get the most donations from their own party and from the corporations. the rich write the laws and make ALL the decisions for the rest of us. and as long as money controls our society this will never change WITHOUT a revolution. it may not even change WITH a revolution.

@adeadlyfart13 ... it ain't happening to me but it is happening. people who let science become their religion are just as foolish and delusional as those who let religion become their science. religion and science aren't incompatible but they are separate things. one is supposed to be based upon unsubstantiatable faith and the other is suppopsed to be based upon unrefutable, empirical and repeatable evidence. they can compliment each other but when they become interchangeable you have a big problem.

@StephBer1 ... this is quite common. the leaders of countries all over the world find it difficult to admit to the atrocites they've committed in the past. 2 examples: 1) the turkish elite refuse to teach their children of the genocide they committed against the Armenians. 2) many american elite refuse to teach their children the horrors of slavery and over a century of systemic discrimination, hatred and violence toward blacks following the "end" to slavery. just look at how american fascists are denouncing so-called "critical race theory." the fascists fear this reality so much that, although this theory is taught only as an "elective" at some colleges, they lie about it being forced on every school-age child in the country. these american fascists want to cover up america's REAL past and poretend it never happened. keeping your nation's horrific past from its citizens is something that's really quite common. and THAT'S quite horrifying!

the weird thing is, almost all "stories" are based upon true events. fiction is often, blatantly, based on real events and many non-fiction writings contain errors, some even intentional. also, there's the argument that if we can imagine it, then its possible. so, considering the number of people who've lived and events that occurred, 99% of which were never recorded in history books, its pretty near impossible to write about ANYTHING that doesn't at least resemble some unknown real person or unrecorded event. you take an event or person, exagerate it, the next generation exagerates it, and so on. you keep the generalities, throw away the specifics, or vice versa, voila, you have history.
