  1. it also can't be under emphasized the role the internet has played not only in general consolidation of the news media but the decline of readership for local papers as well. its helped separate us from our own communities. we're indebted to orgs like Common Cause Media and people like Yosef Geachew and Hartman to keep us informed on this CRISIS! unfortunately, its up to the people to demand an end to this unconstitutional and anti-democratic media consolidation and local media decline. I don't see americans doing much of anything to protect themselves from this corporate police-state.
