  1. the civil war was never about ending slavery. it was about forcing the south to abandon their racially based agrarian slavery in favor of the north's industrial, wage and debt slavery. and as for raising monuments idolizing southern Confederates; its like the U.S. raising monuments in tribute to Benedict Arnold, King George III or Hitler. following the civil war the north allowed the southern racists to think and teach that they they won the war and to continue living as if they had!
