ALL socialism is anti-elitist and democratic. if these two elements don't exist in your society then you haven't achieved socialism. don't let anyone tell you the lie that socialism is authoritarian or fascist. that's just a lie the elite tell to make us fear it. our rulers want us to FEAR what will FREE us from them. that's all there is to it.

you all do realize that cina's so-called "great" economic success is the result of adopting a strictly consumer based, capitalist economy? ITS A FRAUD! they have as many millionaires as we do. there's NOTHING socialist about that. their elite have gotten richer at the expense of labor and the cosnumer just like all "modern" capitalist economies. they haven't axhieved anything but a grand, gracious capitalist/fascist state.

AND, if i correctly understand your comment now, i completely agree with you. from what i can tell, what china has done is taken the worst of american MEGA-capitalism and run amok with it. do you know how china economically overtook the u. s.? they negotiated SWEET DEALS with american industrialists. they allowed giant corporate interests to enter china NOT in exchange for taxes or fees. but in exchange for TECHNOLOGY! these tech trades started back in the 80s with reagan. china had such a HUGE untapped consumer base the corporate elite jumped at the chance and made TRILLIONS in the process. meanwhile, the chinese elite took that technology and used it to increase productivity that's ovetaken the american capitalist model. the american elite still rule the world. but now they have chinese partners.

china IS NOT a socialist society. not by any stretch of the imagination. and neither were the soviets. socialism DOES NOT result in a privileged, elitist ruling class. it doesn't result authoritarianism or dictatorships of any kind. there's no such thing as "authoritarian" socialism. the left-elite keep calling fascism socialism and the right-elite keep calling socialism fascism. THEY'RE ALL WRONG! yet the followers of these elite keep believing the lies of their own, respective elite. ALL socialism is democratic. socialism is economic democracy and democracy is political socialism. the one CANNOT exist without the other. likewise, fascism is political capitalism and capitalism is economic fascism. the one can't exist without the other. sadly, the leaders on the left haven't figured this out yet.

@Violett Fem ... uuuhhhh, we DON'T have socialism in this country, my friend. what you see failing around you is called capitalism. the dems aren't socialist. they're neo-liberal capitalists. just like the GOP are. the difference between the two is the GOP are laissez-faire capitalists while the dems believe the rich can stay rich but we can still protect labor rights, help the poor, a little, and make life a little better for everyone not just make life a LOT better for the rich. which is the result of laissez-faire capitalism. in other words, as general rule, the GOP embraces social darwinism. where the rich get to rule on the simple account that they're rich. being rich indicates one's superiority over the rest of humanity. and this gives them the "right" to rule. and the dems don't embrace social darwinsim. i'm no democrat but between the two, the dems are a hell of a lot better than the GOP.

"unfair" competition isn't competition at all. this is where so many confuse capitalism with "free-marketism." they're TWO different things. free-marketism actually encourages FREE competition along an equal playing field. free-marketism not only protects FRIENDLY competition but freedom of choice. and like socialism, with free-marketism there's NO winners or losers in economic competition. WE ALL WIN! under capitalism there's obvious "winners and losers" that cause social divisions, envy, greed, jealousy and animosity. capitalism is an elitist based system that pits society against ITSELF! winners take all. and the rest are forced to just do without. in other words, capitalism is about corruption while free-marketism and socialism are about COOPERATION! where competition leads to the betterment of us ALL! not just tthe most devious, ruthless and predatory among us. IN FACT, socialism and free-marketism are much more closely related than capitalism and free-marketism.
