"starve the beast" has been precisely the fascist rights strategy for 50 years. they want govt to appear to fail by underfunding it and people fall for this nonsense. but fascists aren't really anti-govt. they always find enough funding for police-sate technologies, police militarization, the military, tax breaks for the rich, protecting elitist interests and WALLS! its only when govt is asked to protect human rights and compensate for the greedy failures of capitalism to provide for the needs of lower classes that the govt is always short of money. it sickens me how way too many republicans applaud the shutdown because they mistakenly see it as a reduction of wasteful govt.
