  1. +Big... right on. and socialism had never been tried nationally either. both systems, and free-marketism as well, are STRICTLY anti-elitist. you can't have an elite hierarchy, an oligarchy, and be anything other than capitalist. capitalism and free-marketism are in fact 2 different things. there's NOTHING free under capitalism; not markets or anything else. adam smith was a proponent of capitalism but john locke founded free-marketism to equalize society and challenge the divine right of the elite.

  2. well, lets get it straight. there's nothing in the constitution that declares the U.S as a capitalist country but we are indeed, most definitely, a capitalist country. Hamilton, the first secretary of the treasury, made sure of that. ALL capitalist countries perpetuate an elitist ruling class and use the govt to enforce the will of the elite. to compare the U.S. military to a socialist entity is incorrect. the military is little different than any other employer. they screw their employees while the employers prosper. that's capitalism; any system that sustains an elitist oligarchy is capitalist. if that's not America I don't know what is.
