the word fascism is derived from the latin "fascias" which means "bundle" or "unity." the word literally meant a sheaf that held a bundle of wheat or barley together. the ancient romans, particular the army, used the symbol of this sheaf, the fascias, to signify ""strength in numbers." in 1921 Mussolini Italianized the word into "fascista" and used it as the name of his ultra-right-wing, reactionary, para-military, anti-socialist political party.

Mussolini didn't invent fascism - he simply gave it a name. its been in existence for 6000 years. its any elitist, hierarchical, authoritarian society. and thanks to 20th century technology fascism is synonymous with totalitarianism. fascism is political capitalism and capitalism is economic fascism. one can't exist without the other.

stalin and mao were both fascists, or became fascists after attaining power, but called themselves socialists for propaganda purposes. Franco, Thatcher, Reagan were all fascists. fascists regimes have arisen all over the world including Argentina, Chile, El Salvador, Batista's Cuba, and most recently in Brazil and Poland and in various forms and degrees, more or less every nation on earth has been and is currently fascist.

trump didn't turn the U.S. fascist, but he's made it MORE fascist than its been in some time. trump is pushing this extreme fascism onto Venezuela.
