@gtaylor2455 no, i'm assuming that democracy is better than authoritarianism. that's why true democracy has two levels. it enforces majority decision making while protecting individual rights. democracy ISN'T mob rule. it isn't protecting the rights of the majority at the expense of all others. its the mutual protection of individual rights while directing society to the mutual benefit of all. and that's what true socialism does. democracy can't exist without socialism and vice versa.

@gtaylor2455 you mean capitalism has never done that. socialism has yet to be implemented on ant national scale because the fascist elite KILL, and I mean often literally kill, any efforts to implement it and the people who try to implement it.

as despised and corrupt as Clinton was she still won the election which tells you just how despised and corrupt trump is. trump isn't president. he won NO election. the oligarchs fixed that election BIG TIME - from every angle. even by fixing the dems primary so trump would face Clinton instead of sanders. trump lost that election. and Clinton lost that primary. and we're going to go through the same fix again if some corporate dem like biden steals the dem primary.

Flightof2Owls I think you missed the point of my comment. the soviets weren't socialist. they were elitist authoritarians. they practiced what was called "state capitalism." NO elitist society is socialist. elitism runs absolutely contrary to the very definition of socialism. but you're right. as long as we have an elitist, oligarchical system industrialization, GDP, GNP, profits, commercialism and materialism will ALWAYS take precedent over human rights and welfare.

+frank... there's actually two forms of social order. that created through force and that created through cooperation and the mutual protection of individual rights. people seek authoritarianism because they think it will best secure their individual rights. and it might, but at the expense of the rights of others. they fail to take into account that be restricting the rights of others they're in fact restricting their own rights. so unbeknownst to them they are actually exchanging their freedoms for what they think is stability and security. they don't realize, because they've never been taught, that the best way to achieve stability and security, to protect their own interests and rights, is to protect the rights of others. when people feel less threatened they are LESS OF A THREAT! stability and security comes from universal freedom not universal subjugation!
