Frederic Bastiat … we have a trillion dollar military budget, the lowest taxes on the elite in history, the elite using their wealth to buy our elections and politicians, corporations are raking in record level profits, wages remain stagnant and inflation is rampant, the middle class is vanishing, the working poor exploding, homelessness increasing, we have a military presence throughout the world, mass gerrymandering, a technological police-state and a fascist in the white house being protected and emboldened by the republican party. the "citizen's united" decision has corrupted the political process in favor of the far right elite, consumer debt is at historic highs, the Glass-Steagall Act was revoked and corporate and wall street deregulation has given our greedy, profit seeking elite license to do as they please. and the democratic party has become nearly as far right as their republican counterparts. and the fed is a far right institution not a liberal one. i'd say "fascist" is a more accurate word to describe the direction our country and the world is taking.

@marysouza1882 … biden is a horrible choice for the democrats. he represents the same ole corporatism and Washington insiders as Clinton did -0 AND TRUMP DOES! and the democrats are already rigging things to biden's advantage. just like they did Clinton! but as bad as biden is he'd be better than trump. mickey mouse would be better than trump.

the U.S. govt borrows money from U.S. banks and china. you didn't know that? the govt would go broke if it didn't borrow money to keep functioning. EVERY cent of your tax dollars goes to paying ONLY the interest on these loans. the trillion dollar military budget and trump's elitist tax cuts - ALL funded through govt debt. this is how capitalism works.

debt is created from the lending of the money. thanks to computerization ALL loans are issued digitally. the banks ask the fed, a privately owned bank, for permission to make a loan. upon approval, the fed digitally transfers that money to the bank's account to lend. the bank keeps the interest and digitally returns the principle to the fed. the bank risks NOTHING! but profits nonetheless.

@marysouza1882 … remember the democrats are just as culpable in implementing the police state as the GOP. did you notice in the so-called debates not one mention of the police-state apparatus. not one mention of the dangers of the cashless economy, the surveillance society, the 5G network, the end of net-neutrality, the laws passed restricting and even illegalizing protests and dissent, the militarization of the police or the patriot act or homeland security. the police-state and climate change are both indications of the growing corruption and powers of the plutocracy.

@Germoney2000 … yes, capitalism creates very strange bedfellows indeed. people, institutions and even govts borrow money from their "enemies." china could call in Its U. S. loans at any time and the U. S. couldn't pay it. it would go bankrupt, our economy would collapse and our country would become the virtual property of china. but that would be to china's disadvantage. the debt, alone, already makes them our economic masters and there's too much profit to be made from the interest on the debt. and a functioning American consumer class benefits THEIR economy. as for china being "socialist." don't believe it. like the Soviets, china was NEVER socialist. any "socialism" that may have been attached to either of these countries was in name and rhetoric only, not in practice.
