equalism, a new and innovative philosophy I founded, simplifies all this convolution. equalism defines capitalism as any system that divides society into 2 major classes; an elite and everyone else. (everyone else being called the comlen.) any change of systems, such as from feudalism to capitalism, were, in reality, a change in name ONLY to create the ILLUSION of change. when in actuality little change was realized at all - an elite still ruled and the comlen worked for the benefit of that elite. even the small business owners Hartman spoke of in his youth (my dad was a small business "owner") just worked for and was a slave to the same elite that ruled everyone else.
so any change that's occurred in human society since the earliest city-city states have been cyclical and illusionary. the invention of monetary systems was crucial in maintaining elite privilege and control of society.
btw, just as the nation-state replaced the city-state, the corporate state is replacing the nation-state. welcome to the corporate-state. the corporate police-state to be more accurate. where national flags are being replaced with corporate logos, your privacy is a corporate commodity and technology is used to track you, spy on you, manipulate you, stupefy you and ADDICT you and ENSLAVE YOU!
