The problem being, that Zelensky never kept his promises and kept shelling Donbass like his bloodthirsty predecessor. No, it was USA that broke the nuclear treaty with Ukraine (you conveniently ignore the fact that USA was the part of it same way Russia was) by directly interviening into Ukrainian politics and enacted yet another "color revolution" coup, installing a puppet regime of theirs. There was nothing for Russia to break since then since the treaty was already broken by USA and there was no sovereign Ukraine to speak of left

  32.  @anonymous_38516  nice alternative reality, but agreement was made between DPR, LPR and Ukraine, while Russia acted as a broker, not a side of it, hence it was impossible for Russia to break the deal that wasn't made with them. Regarding 2014, it was Victoria Nuland and other American sponsors that enacted color revolution, one of the many more that US is so infamous for. Now do remember that US was part of promising Ukraine's sovereignty on Budapes's agreements (together with Russia) and when such was broken by americans installing puppet regime - Russia was no longer under obligation to not interfere. How do crayons taste like?

Secondly, denazification - getting your neigbouring country get rid of the nazi menace that they worship so much (unfortinatly Baltic nazis are protected by NATO at this point). Thirdly, Merkel exposed that Zelensky was sponsored and made plan to attack Crimea at 2022 so it was the matter of time and initiative who would be first to attack and Russia decided not to wait. Finally, US's medical service's head Fauci vuilt a few biolabs around the world, including inside of Ukraine akin to that of Wuhan and we all know what are they capable of from the Chinese flu.
