Happy birthday Mike! ๐ ๐ฅณ That Big Eddy Lodge looks so amazing! I just looked up their website. I love quiet places with big fluffy dogs ๐๐ถ
2
Well that was pretty scary and awesome!
2
The Van Gogh is opening in Toronto on July 29! It looks amazing ๐
2
OMG I had no idea that Stanley Park had been devastated like that! I was living in the SE US in 2006, so I guess it didn't make the news down there. The art looks fascinating, I'll have to check it out next time I'm out on the left coast
2
The Rocky Mountaineer has always been on my bucket list, but I think you've just helped to move it up a couple of notches. I really do need a bigger bucket...๐
2
Oh wow, this is frickin' awesome! What an amazing trip, it's been on my bucket list for a while! AND you'll be on tv too! Movin' on up eh Mike? How much time do you have at each stop? I'd love to meet up with you and show you 'round when you reach Toronto. If I can find my way thru Union Station that is. They've done some renovations and moved things all around... ๐ This is going to be EPIC! I'm so excited for you! ๐
2
You're so Canadian, saying thank you to a robot! ๐ Why don't all airports have a Wag Brigade?
2
that was a fabulous trip! Thanks for taking us along ๐

If I was allowed to leave my house, I'd love to come out and hug some trees with you. Alas...
1
I love PEI! I've been a couple of times and need to go back. Maybe to hike the rail trail. And then go have some smoked oysters ๐
1
OMG I used to go to the Toronto Indy all the time and I went out to Vancouver once. I also used to go to amateur races on small regional ovals that make you dizzy to watch, and to Mosport, and I went to one NASCAR race in Charlotte. I miss racing, I dont know why I stopped watching. I've always wanted to go to the Montreal Grand Prix, its probably crazy expensive! That wrap would probably cost about $20 in Toronto, and $7 for the bottle of water ๐คจ everything at sporting events or concerts in Toronto is stupidly over priced. It's likely cheaper to fly to the other side of the world to go see a race ๐ Have the Germans come to Montreal!
1
That is totally cool! I want one. If I had somewhere to keep it. I thought Whistler is closed though? ๐ฒ
1
Ok I will have to check out that train, whenever I'm in that neck of the woods ๐
1
I guess you just bought yourself a tux eh? Not sure the rental will appreciate it having gone for a dunk ๐
1
Why? Why the heck Not? ๐
1
Woooo! I want to do that zipline! And see all the goats! I'm not a huge fan of bicycles, but I would suck it up just to see the goats ๐
1
Yeah, that's a bit extreme! ๐ซฃ If I was 30 years younger and a lot more flexible I might give it a go! Some of those toe-holds tho looked about a foot more apart than my legs are long ๐คฃ
1
I much prefer the train for shorter distances. Airports are just too stressful. Always have been. And lately even more so! The extra time needed to get to the airport, then thru security etc just isn't worth the hassle.
1
I moved from Toronto to Newfoundland, specifically for that sound of nothing ๐
1
What an amazing f#$%!*^ trip! Mike, I'm sure you are your Mother's favourite son ๐ I'm definitely going to check out this train! I'd love to see Moab, and that Hummer adventure over the rocks looks so fun!
1
ย @DownieLiveย already shared link with train loving travel friend! ๐
1
ย @IntriguedLionessย unfortunately yes.
1
looks nice and comfy! Does it have that "new car smell"?
1
ย @DownieLiveย even better!
1
Train travel seems much more civilized. The always rushed feeling at airports, even when you're just sitting waiting for delayed flights, is always so stressful. And planes are noisy.
1
That looks like a fun trip. And congrats to the new daddy!
1
Jeez...now I feel old! I was in highschool in '84 ๐ ๐ I have been on that highway once. My mother was driving and she kept scaring the f....s...out of me! Well...her and the logging trucks flying up and down. I'm a flat-lander and mountain highways scare me. But at least I don't cower on the floor anymore ๐๐

I can sympathize with you on the ice bath. Last week I was visiting BC and went up to Ainsworth Hot Springs. There's the hot spring pool, then the hotter pool, and the even hotter cave. And then there's the ice cold plunge pool. I basically said the same thing you did. Nope, this is not enjoyable! ๐คฃ The hot pools were blissful tho! Could you hear all the air traffic all night while you slept? I've stayed in airport hotels and not slept because of the noise. That's not fun either. Looks like a pretty cool room though with all the exercise equipment
1
I've walked along much of that at various trips to Vancouver but I had no idea that it's 28km end to end. You should get a badge or something ๐ I hope your feet recovered. If you plan any other long distance walks, I suggest you carry some blister plasters or moleskin with you. ๐
1
That is so cool! If I ever win a lottery...! ๐
1
Ouch! Team New Zealand ๐ณ๐ฟ that's gotta suck! And looks really painful, I hope nothing other than the front fork on the bike was broken ๐ฎ Maybe needs some sturdier framing? These extra long machines seem quite precarious. Good job so far though, it's very exciting
1
Congratulations ๐ Good luck if you get called to jury duty! That must be so weird ๐
1
Wow Mike, you're really helping me plan my retirement. ๐ That ferry looks like an awesome trip, I'm going to look into that. And the glacier cruise, just gobsmacked!
1
Great times, great friends, great service on that train! Wow, I'm impressed! And you all just took the long delay in stride. I guess you can do that though, if you're all travel YouTubers with nothing else to do๐ the painted fire hydrant tour is pretty cool. I'll have to see if I can get to Quesnel sometime.
1
I must agree that Calvin was the best part of the whole series he and Susie and their babies are just adorable ๐ฅฐ Can't wait to find out where we're going next!
1
What a fantastic trip Mike! Truly a bucket list spot for sure! And to witness a marriage proposal as well! Best wishes to the happy couple ๐
1
What a cool idea! Yep, I think you should go do a hike with Seb. Self-propelled adventure is awesome ๐
1
That was a nail biter! I don't think that could ever be boring! I do think you probably have to be quite a lot crazy to do it though ๐ I must say...as soon as Mike said "log boom" I had The Log Driver's Waltz start in my head ๐
1
That. Was. AWESOME! I love watching races at that track. I grew up not too far away and we went often. My father was a racing enthusiast and even used to drive in amateur laps around that track. It was called Mosport way back when. I haven't been to a race in forever! Now I realize how much I miss it! I'll have to check the schedule, see whats happening this summer ๐
1
That's the coolest sleepover EVER! it would be amazing to get about 20 or 30 people and sleep in the bunks where they put the scouts groups now. And then run drills at night ๐ I toured an aircraft carrier that is/was docked in Wilmington NC way back...gosh it might be almost 20 years ago. I can't remember the name of the ship now. It is HUGE! The one I toured was from WWII era, I think. We didn't get a sleepover though. sigh
1
The Flower Pot rock collapsed this week ๐ช I will have to go to NB to see the others before they're gone.
1
That hotel is crazy! ๐ that entry hallway is a bit...um...mind bending? ๐ฎ I've been up in a hot air balloon before. It was so quiet (except when they had to blast the flame) and I was bent over the edge of the basket to look down at the cows, with my friend just holding onto my belt to make sure I didn't go over ๐

I have been using Tru Earth strips for a couple of years now. I love them! I use the fragrance free because I have fragrance intolerance and I hand wash everything in my bathroom sink because I live in a rental apartment and can't use communal machines. I tried a different brand of a very similar product and they didn't dissolve properly and I had globs of laundry strip stuck to my clothes! ๐ Even handwashing in my sink the Tru Earth works great and all my clothes are clean and don't smell. Of anything. No body odour, and I can get pretty stinky when I go out backpacking for a few days! no fragrances, just clean. Love it! Go buy some. Now.
1
This is fantastic! I'm going to have to check out Stasburg and the steam train! So amazing.
1
That's pretty cool to take the train right to the lift. If I skied, I might actually make that trip ๐
1
I think if I ever wint a crap ton of money on the Lotto Max, I'll buy one of those Piagaio jets. It's pretty. I like quiet flights. Not that I've ever had one, but I can imagine.
1
Wow, thanks for sharing such an awesome trip! I loved seeing the guys' faces enjoying thr train, and the moose, and the mousse. ๐ whoever did the editing of the overnight and morning stop at Anchorage, Bravo! That was some brilliance ๐๐ Can't wait to see the canals in the UK!
1
I love Nova Scotia. I need to get back there again ๐
1
Niagara is always a fun day trip, particularly in winter when everything is frozen from the spray. ๐ I used to take the GO train all the time when I lived out in the 'burbs. Now I live in Midtown Toronto and either walk or take the TTC.
