Most Americans have the same thoughts about national debt working like personal debt does, which means half of the problem is one of education failing. Also, I think he was assuming that some form of these two bills will go through as (hopefully) it's highly likely. I think it would have been informative for David to expand upon how gov. spending to increase jobs/economy/infrastructure is necessary and things like printing money to pay debt or give corporations and the 1% tax cuts just hurts the bottom 99%.
