Dave Chappelle's primary reason for leaving the Chappelle's Show at the time, if you paid attention to what the man said at the time, was that he had just gotten this unprecedented deal for just one more season of the show for $50 MILLION DOLLARS. HOWEVER, this was all compounded by exhaustion with him working reportedly like 20 hours a day during production, but that wasn't the issue, what the issue was is that during production of all these legendary skits where he as a black man is frequently utilizing his race and the race of others as like cruxes of his jokes, that a vast majority of the people on set watching were white faces predominately, and towards the end he didn't feel like he was being laughed "With" so much as he was being laughed "At". Also, going back to the $50 million thing, with it being a historical deal for a comedian on TV -- he interpreted that at the time as him selling out to the white man. And he was. They were gonna force him to do all kinds of embarrassing shit because they would keep going back to that like "We paid you an unbelievable amount of money for this! We own you now, don't you know?" So he ran. It had nothing to do with them asking for him to tone the show down or to be more commercially viable for advertisers with more friendly and less provocative content, no, he was literally worried that he was actually backtracking from the legacy of his great grandfather who WAS A SLAVE by entering himself into a brand new form of "successful slavery". If that makes sense. He made the right call to leave.

  6. It's the taboo in it that drives a lot of them, IMO. He COULD find plenty of girls that are legitimately 18 or 19 years old but look 14, but that's not enough for him. He needs to KNOW that this fruit is forbidden. He probably took photocopies of their driver's licenses (or credentials, or whatever, someone like him probably needed proof of the age for him to enjoy it as much as possible) and everything just so he could have that on hand when he jerked off to the recordings he made of these victims later. I think it's the idea they're crossing the line that gets them off as much first and foremost, then the fact that they know there's a 99.9% chance case they'll get away with it. Because normally they do.

I mean, I can understand if someone says it's not their DOC like they prefer cocaine better or something, but the reality of the fact is saying you don't like opiates is almost tantamount to saying "I don't like being happy". Opiates ingested essentially release a tidal wave of endorphins which of course is the naturally occurring chemical in your body that makes you happy. What it does is it just releases a tidal wave of artificial happiness, and if you continue using it your brain actually to a certain extent forgets how to make it by itself. It's never too late for it to be repaired, but it does become harder and harder with prolonged use, that's why I feel like opiate addiction is so comprehensive. It literally covers the physical as well as the emotional, making it excruciatingly difficult to quit.

The sad thing is whether it devolves into a full blown civil war or not there will unequivocally be even more blood running in the streets. The idea to "defund" or even "dismantle" the police during this time is only going to ensure the conflict is going to be as unmitigated and as "bad" as possible.

Yeah higher education is the biggest racket in the country right now, the cost of college goes up every year and nowadays unless you are going to a really good (read: really expensive school) with lots of "good connections" you're not going to be getting out of college with much to enter a job that is reasonable enough to help you get going. I knew someone who had a master's in something, like a solid 6-8 years of college under her belt, but nobody would hire her because it just wasn't good enough. Last I heard she was managing a Pizza Hut. That's the problem with college education the way it is now, there is no reasonable certainty that you will get a job but everyone going to college thinks they're just going to be handed a solid 5 or even 6 figure job as soon as they graduate. It just doesn't work that way.

He shouldn't have let his ego take control of his life though because that was what drove the band apart when it did. And of course by the time he wanted to get back "on the ride" the music world had basically moved past him and his style of music. They were getting older, etc. Sure there will always be people who go see the Pumpkins. That will never change. But (and this pisses Billy off a lot actually) most of them don't want to hear your "new stuff". They just want to hear the classics. So whether you do so reluctantly or fully willingly, that is what 90% of the people in that room are expecting from you and if you want to continue touring you'd do well to realize that ASAP. As a professional musician anyway. He shouldn't have let the band dissolve when he had the chance to stop it but alas hindsight will always be 20/20.

That wasn't even the beginning of the end for the Pumpkins, that was like stage two or three in their slow downfall from the Mellon Collie and (for me especially) Siamese Dream, which I consider to still be the best album they ever did. The quintessential 90's hard rock album. From track one you are just back in 1992 or 3 or whatever. Don't believe me? Go listen to Siamese Dream now from beginning to end. It's a masterpiece IMO and easily the best album they've ever done.

  25. ​ @augia5051  I think the worst thing that happens is they send you a letter saying that a package was seized en route to your house. They can't prove you were the one who ordered it/had it sent to yourself. Everyone in their right minds knows it was you that did it, but they can't prove it. So that's why they let it go. The other side of that coin though is they could also do one of a few types of controlled deliveries. Asking you to sign when you normally didn't have to is a huge red flag. If they come to your door and ask you to sign for a package you never had to sign for before, then you are 100% getting a controlled delivery and all you can do is deny the package. They will be like "You know what you don't have to sign here you go just gotta see that it has been placed in your hands!" It doesn't count if they leave it on the porch, it doesn't count if a neighbor receives it to give to you. They have to confirm that you preferably a) knew about it and b) legally took possession of it. The only way out at that point is to deny it, be like "What is this this sounds like a scam I've never had to sign before? No, I wasn't expecting anything, I refuse the package. It's probably a mistake anyway. Goodbye!" It sucks you will lose the product and I would never send it to the same address again but it's either that or you go down for it. Of course I've never had that happen let alone have I known anybody that's happened to them.

  30.  @pauldavid601  Still waiting for the definition of what USPS defines as "suspicious shit" that gives them the legal right to open a package without a warrant. Even if they were like "Here, 'accidentally' puncture this package right through the middle and the entire room smells like weed or whatever, then we got him!" it wouldn't be admissible in court, because the evidence wasn't gotten legally. When it comes to USPS they have to have probable cause first, then they have to get a warrant, only then can they legally open your package and search it. Also when you think of the sheer volume of mail that USPS delivers on a daily basis, this idea they're scrutinizing all packages that way is ridiculous. They'd probably be more likely to fire your boss for having so many packages with mysterious holes in the middle.

Some people do anyway but that just means it has to cross the border, and things that do that are scrutinized a lot more than stuff that stays domestic. You may have no choice but to order internationally. I'd still say you're safe doing it but you need to do your due diligence first.

When they do stuff like and give things away to the people, regardless of whether it's Christmas or not, to them it's the cost of doing business. It's easier to get away with things when the people not only don't care what you're doing, but they actually are sharing in the benefits of it themselves, your entire business will go that much smoother.

  47. I've never heard that but that might be the most spot on brilliant analysis of Fight Club I've ever read. Back when I used to deliver pizzas, I lent it to one of the drivers who was Puerto Rican saying it was my favorite movie of all time, bar none (and it's still in my top 5) but he was like "bro why would anyone want to do something like that?" I just hope he and his family didn't gather round for a nice uplifting family movie or something cause that's absolutely 100% what they didn't get. He was a dick anyway, though. Fuck that guy. lol but yeah anyone who isn't prepared to bring their brain to the table isn't gonna truly enjoy it. Fight Club is the kind of movie you need to watch at least twice for it to mean anything to you. I've seen it like 100 times if not more, especially during college, and I even wrote about it in philosophy classes I was taking as well (there's a literal gold mine of things to write about when it comes to Fight Club -- a literal cornucopia of philosophical ideas)
