Vlad G, no sir, changing any more often than 6,000 miles for a street car is wasteful and has no benefit whatsoever, as long as quality oil and filter are used. I use Mobil1 0w30 and change it once a year, which for my car is barely 5,000 miles, sometimes even less. My original engine has over 363,000 miles to prove it.

M X Chernobyl?
2
yep, did it on my Miata cluster. Recommend removing the cluster and taking the lens off the cluster, though.
2
not to mention the tough nuts (pecans I think) sitting inside the engine bay! Ba-dum-tsss
2
Imagine screwing up a customer car because you weren’t familiar with it beforehand. That’s the purpose of doing this.
2
If you're near Memphis, Word of Mouth Detailing works this way.
2
I design and draw building plans for a living. Those look like some crappy AutoCAD drawings lol. Building design looks awesome though!
2
because US driving laws aren't nearly as stringent. Drivers licenses are practically handed out in cereal boxes, that's how much of a joke the "driving test" is.
2
Why does anyone leave vehicles in barns or outside for years on end? Often life just gets in the way, or the Owner falls out of love with the vehicle or whatever, but then later rediscovers it and wants to bring it back. Maybe he/she lives down there during winter months and wants this car down there. It's not really that far-fetched.

It showed up for me in the Recommended videos, which is the only way I knew about it. I think it was originally uploaded set to Private or Unlisted, then changed to Public, which makes it not show up in people's subscription lists.

I keep an Absorber towel around for wheels only, or maybe some areas in the engine bay. That's it.

Only thing that might be considered a "failure" is new car instant depreciation. We just bought a 2 year old CX-5 last summer for around $10K less than the new car's price would have been. It's been a great car so far. I love CX-5's as far as CUV's go. Perfect vehicle for my wife and our family.
1
dang I used to do a full detail on my car including wash, clay, polish and wax with Porter Cable DA machine, interior and engine cleaning, and it took me 6-8 hours. And my car is small (94 Integra coupe)!
1
holy crap, so much work to make the car look PERFECT, so is it still going to be a track car?
1
+thedakotagosquad Print up some business cards and an invoice for service done on a friend's car, maybe they would let you in. :-P
1
Lol put it back in too soon and the car will smell like pickles! 😂
1
Yikes, I would never use the same mitt on both door/fuel/hood jambs as on the lower rocker panels. One for the top, one for the bottom, and a 3rd for the jambs.
1
Tristan H. It will never get like that unless both front wheels are off the ground. Even when cornering on the inside wheel, the sway bar keeps it from drooping so much that the spring becomes uncaptured.
1
Daniel Maia I'm sure he had whatever fuel level he planned to start with on a track day (not always a full tank), and they probably either used Larry himself or some ballast in the driver seat to account for his weight.
1
That ep 1 rust removal part I was like DAMNNNNN THAT'S NASTY!!!!!!
1
haha smart thinking!
1
Tha Saw He probably was in the car when they were doing the actual corner balancing.
1
Who is better, and why exactly?
1
Looks up paint pen on Amazon... "usually ships in 1 to 2 months" what the hell??
1
355,000 on my Honda Integra.
1
+heyitschinoable lol thanks bro. It's looking pretty shitty these days, haven't washed it in like a year. Clear coat is fading in some places 😢
1
heyitschinoable well sure it sits in the sun while I'm at work. At home it's garaged, though. But I've put probably 200,000 miles on the car since it was painted in 2004.
1
Only reason I would ever want a brand new car, besides the warranty and hopefully reliability, would be the idea that I could pull all the wrappings off myself, and prep it and clean it the way >>I<< want to.
1
Man this is all awesome and everything, but I was just sitting there the whole time thinking damn that all is costing sooo much money. Did that $700 include getting the car to the track and track prep and everything?
1
8:00 that whole step I was wanting to reach in and move that leaf and other GUNK under the edge of the tire. 😂 Oh and wheel wooly sounds hilarious lol.
1
Whenever I'm going to be doing something to all 4 wheels like this I go ahead and jack up both ends of the car and get jack stands under all 4 corners. Seems to save some time overall. Also why not apply the tire dressing before putting the wheel back on the car? Whenever the car is on the ground I have to apply the dressing, then roll the car slightly to get that one spot of tire that was nearest the ground previously. It's easier to do it with the tire off the car if you have the tire off anyway.
1
Does the paint thickness meter not work on painted CF panels? Also, why in the world would somebody put HOCKEY TAPE on the hood of the car??? Should have used the blue painters tape all over including both the hood AND the bumper!
1
Not just newer cars, my 94 Integra rear hatch glass does this, and I always wondered why.
1
Larry man your car is hot FIYAHH for sure, but I do think your street wheels look better than those new ones with the race tires. But I guess you want the better looking stuff to be on the street anyway, right? What made you go with those wheels?
1
Normal, my Acura Integra smoked a bit after replacing the head gasket and putting the head and camshafts back together with assembly lube.
1
Holy smokes that joystick control for the climate control looks super cumbersome to use while driving, maybe even dangerous, as opposed to some tactile control you don't have to look at as much.
1
man those air polishers take MASSIVE amounts of air to run. No way my upright garage compressor could run one of those. Curious, why use an air polisher instead of electric? Is it just because there are no electric polishers small enough to do the really detailed intricate areas?
1
Amazing garage build! Those steel "beams" were actually C channels, and bolted on each side of the wood beam, it created sort of a "flitch beam".
1
Clay might be able to remove some of that paint overspray if that's what it is.
1
Harzman01 Oh okay, I thought you were saying the paint was in good shape other than what sounds like is "overspray" on the body panels.
1
+Aleksandar Kospenda haha I actually had a pizza in Brazil I think it was, that actually had mayo on it. It was NASTY!
1
I change the oil in my car once a year.
1
That should be a show! Larry Kosilla + Mike Rowe!
1
Pretty sure he'll work on most anything that a customer is willing to pay for, and the customer will have their reasons for wanting to bring the car down to where they are. Plus, I'm sure when Larry saw the car or got wind of what the customer wanted, he immediately thought of the video possibilities for the channel. BIOHAZARD is the type of click-baity word that gets views.
1
If you want to use a foam gun, a pressure washer is far more effective. I've seen videos of foam guns that attach to the hose, and the foam they produce just looks straight up wimpy compared to that of an actual power washer with foam gun/cannon.
1
@mypalAbra lmao yeah, still have the car at 388,000+ miles now. Runs great but looks like crap as it needs a respray badly. I've been slowly replacing and restoring parts until I can get a bigger place, to do a full teardown and restoration project on the car.
1
I need one of those tiny polishers like that. I have a couple of cars with aftermarket single-DIN head units with the display lens all scratched up. I rubbed it a bit by hand with some 105/205 and a microfiber cloth, and it improved the appearance, but not to this level.
1
In the South we don't use Winter tires.
1
My point is that most people in the South don't do a seasonal tire change, so they're less likely to do any sort of deep cleaning like this.
