Why is the journalist speaking French? Should be obvious that the language used to an international audience in Europe is English, not French.
23
Yep, we discriminate against war criminals and other criminals typically also.
21
"One of the most powerful countries in the world" 🤣🤣😂😂🤦♂🤦♂
12
@ye9206 English is an European language and why should we encourage using French that in Europe is mostly only spoken in France? Would you also enjoy it if someone made a newscast in Estonian, what would be the point of that for 99% of people? Someone should explain to the French they aren't an empire anymore and that it's time they started speaking English like the rest of us.
10
@MrStoneyburke Is that sarcasm or are you high on crack? It's Boris that destroyed you and is trying to get out of the deal that is signed.
7
@purelle88 It's not about what language private people use among themselves, it's what language a person uses on an EU-funded news channel aimed at an international audience. Stop with the nonsense of trying to equate French with English, it is obvious that English is the common default and French isn't. How do I read subtitles when I'm bicycling outside and just listening to it on the smartphone?? The subtitles would be too small to see even if I was still and looking at the screen on a phone 🤦🏼♂
7
@jerrynaga5917 Have you read the Budapest agreement? You couldn't find a real job so you decided to troll online for Russia and support that dictatorship?
6
@nigelraporam6917 It's called collective responsibility. The nation is ultimately responsible for it's leaders so only the active dissidents that are a clear minority in Russia are innocent. Others have enabled Putin for decades.
6
@ruthlesstruth8639 So who is Nato bombing now? You mean bombing civilians like Russians in Syria for example?
5
@tjmarx Making empty claims isn't the same as you refuting anything. Calling nonsense a fact, is also not an argument. You didn't make any valid arguments, you simple asserted something ridiculous and pretend it's connected with reality somehow.
4
@tjmarx You asserted that sanctions are the cause of inflation rather than the war itself, that caused the sanctions. A 5-year-old can figure out how stupid your argument was.
4
@purelle88 If you can't understand the difference between nothing and the language the journalist is using, you should stop commenting. With a bit of common sense you would understand that some people listen to these videos for example while walking instead of watching them constantly and you might understand there is no use for the French language on a channel whose audience is mainly outside of France.
4
@jonblackers4339 The reason for that is, that in those countries many people genuinely can't speak English. I have been to France and now I'm in Spain and many regular people can't form a single sentence in English. It's sad it is so still in 2024, but it's their choice so I wouldn't blame them if they think they don't need it. Here the issue is, we have a professional journalist and EU-funded news channel producing content for wider audience so different standards apply than for common people in comment threads.
4
@jonblackers4339 Yes, I lived in the Hagua also and almost all Dutch people I met could speak English. It's the same in Sweden etc. French people are probably the ones most reluctant to speak English even if they knew how to. They don't understand the concept of people visiting their country for a short while and not learning their language. Many of them still seem to think French is some language of an empire everyone would need to know. But many in France don't even know English even if they were willing to speak it, a bunch of French people that go on vacation only in France and never experience situations where their language isn't the norm.
4
@ruthlesstruth8639 Only coup in Ukraine was in Crimea with the fake referendum, in Kiev they have had multiple monitoried and fair elections and your candidates never won = no coup there just because you think Nuland isn't supposed to do something you don't like.
4
@jerrynaga5917 So having elections is coup in your mind because that is what happened: they had multiple elections and again, the Russian candiates lost. The only party that breached the Budapest agreement was Russia that agreed to secure Ukraines borders for the nukes, yet didn't honor that agreement in 2014.
4
@jerrynaga5917 Sure, there has been independent election obsersers and unlike in the Russian elections and fake referendums, they haven't found serious issues. But keep lying.
4
Sure, we put other criminals in jail so according to your logic that must be discrimination also.
4
nutty walls EU is crumbling, not Russia? 😂😂🤣🤣🤦♂🤦♂
4
No, even a child can see Putin just wants to bully contries around and get CCCP back. He wants some excuse to invade Ukraine, there is 0 security threats from Europe to Russia as nobody here is even remotely interested in invading that gas station. The only threat to European security is clearly Russia and it's delusional leader that thinks it's still 1979.
4
@ruthlesstruth8639 How does Russia fit the description of Nazism? Same idea with all the opponents being killed or prisoned, no actually democratic elections, no freedom of speach - instead journalists are also killed and every country around them is just a potential for their invasion. Russia is 50 years behind progress and just the same kind of bully like China, although it has less power in everything.
4
@jerrynaga5917 Why you waste your time with this absolute nonsense? Nobody outside of Russia and China is going to believe your lies, so why you waste your time? Russia occupied other countries for 50 years against their will until the CCCP collapsed. Putin could never get over that trauma, so now he wants the CCCP back so he can bully smaller countries again. That is your history: bullying other smaller countries, not allowing them to decide for themselves. And that is the kind of thing you defends here, I don't know how you can live with yourself.
4
@nigelraporam6917 Yes, it's a real paradise compared to the alternative of being gassed to death, but I understand you like that type of things as you support Assad also. Also, it's not the responsibility of Americans to hold the hands of Iraqi people for the rest of their life, they have a chance now to elect their own leaders so it's up to them what problems they have.
4
The butthurt of the Russians in the comment section is off the scale 😂
3
@tjmarx "nuh-uh" isn't an argument Ivan.
3
@tjmarx G7 fully agrees with me and the reason it's G7 and not G8 anymore is because they do. And "kid"? 😂 Yes that is the typical reply when the rubbish gets refuted and the propagandist has nothing of value to offer.
3
There was never such a promise made, Gorbatsow imagining things doesn't count. Also, how about the Budapest agreement? Why should we abide by your imaginations when you don't even abide by agreements you actually signed?
3
@ruthlesstruth8639 Syria? 😂 Another country where Russians are against democracy, promote a dictator and bomb civilians. Your whataboutism is pathetic, you bring up examples of all the places where Russia has self caused problems like Yugoslavia, Syria, Afghanistan etc.
3
@eltonmunyama2518 You mean the Budapest agreement that Russia signed where it guaranteed the security and borders of Ukraine? Why did Russia violate that agreement, why make any deals with Russia that never honors any agreements?
3
@nigeljohnson9820 Would be high time for that so Russia could finally move past the CCCP days. Same thing for China too: high time for revolution and democracy.
3
@jerrynaga5917 Cool story bro, we know who is the one lying as usual, Russia that still living in the past and thinks it's some superpower that everybody needs to give something. And volunteering? Sure, whatever you say..😂🤣😂
3
@shashankkolhe4111 "Russia is multi ethnic and multicultural nation than any European country." Sure, is that why sexual minorities fear for their life and for example black people face racism daily in Russia? "Ukraine is politically compromised country at par with Haiti where US government meddles aggressively. Ask Victoria nuland" US has not annexed any part of Ukraine and is invited there by the legitimate government. Nothing wrong with lobbying, they have not falsified elections results so your argument is pathetic Russian whataboutsim and propaganda. "america itself destroyed all the pillars of Ukrainian democracy" What does this rubbish even mean? You could not come up with anything better? They have free elections with independent observers and US has not stopped that or annexed parts of the country like Russia has. " its failed states east Europe which are the culprits." The biggest failure of them all: Russia.
3
@franciscouderq1100 Our import/export is best it's ever been.
2
@benjamin2149 Yes, that is where I live: in the EU.
2
@Cortesevasive 90% of the population is smart enough to understand the restrictions set by the Estonian government, only a very small minority of extremely ignorant antivaxxers are protesting. The kind of people gullible enough to believe Qanon and other conspiracies.
2
@pumaetigre Don't know where you live in, but the rest of the world doesn't always stare at a computer screen in 2024 while on Youtube. Believe it or not, some people use smartphones where the screen is too small to read subtitles and some people even just listen to the audio of documentaries while doing other things.
2
@jerrynaga5917 What is the purpose of Nato? To keep gas stations run by the mafia (Russia) in their own lane.
2
@jerrynaga5917 So you can't answer why you troll for morally bankcrupt governments that sign agreements like the Budapest agreement and then violate that agreement when they feel like it? You really can't find any other job, you need to scoop this low still in 2021?
2
@jerrynaga5917 False, US did not orchestrate any coups as they had free elections in the country multiple times and because you don't like your candidate losing, you cry like a little girl about some coup you imagines. And even had their been a coup, that would not be against the agreement as the agreement was simply about Ukraines security and borders, even a coup would not violate that agreement, but Russia's actions did when it annexed Crimea and occupied Donbas.
2
@jerrynaga5917 Much smarter, like propagandists, that can't even reply so that my name would actually be included in the reply so I get a notificaiton about it? You try to have the last word and let your lies stick by hiding from me, so pathetic like the actions you defend here.
2
@shashankkolhe4111 The last country anybody should ever emulate is Russia and China, dictators killing millions of people, no human rights, no democracy, no freedom of speech, just an 200 dollar monthly wage in a corrupt gas station run by the mafia.
2
@shashankkolhe4111 Yes we know migrant crisis is also what you tried to create with Belarus, shows what a desperate and despicble group of people you are, but you didn't succeed in that either and no crisis here.
2
@nigelraporam6917 Yep, Americans did the thing anyone expect cowards would do: removed a dictator from power in Iraq, a dictator that was committing genocide against the Kurds(Anfal campaign). I understand you like to prop up dictators though, that is what you do all over the planet in places like Cuba, North Korea and Syria.
2
nutty walls It's hard to educate others when self dropped out of high school.
2
@andreypetrov1327 Yes, European values: not appeasing Russian war criminals.
2
@tjmarx The cause for the inflation is Russia starting a war and that leading to higher energy prices. Russia is the sole side responsible, blaming the victim or those that are helping the victim is just the typical pathetic Russian twisting of facts-
1
@tjmarx The war is exactly what lead to the higher prices, the sanctions are a direct result of the war so the causal chain begins with the war. No war, no sanctions. War so sanctions. Does everything need to be explained to you like to a 5-year-old? Blaming sanctions is the same as blaming the victim for defending themselves or blaming others that they help the victim defend themselves. I have understood very well what has been going on in Ukraine since 2014. Russia started the war then, and this time it escalated it by starting a larger invasion. It's Russian troops and tanks that rolled in from Belarus and Russia, it's Goebbels level propaganda to try to deny it like you do. The only thing you achieve here is prove how eager your people are to blantaly lie about things. Everybody simply learns nothing that comes out of your mouths can be trusted and no deal signed with you means anything.
1
@Cortesevasive Guess what, children aren't vaccinated so obviously in most places 90% is very hard to achieve. Nobody was forced to get a vaccine in Estonia or anywhere either, it has been voluntary everywhere on this planet. The people in opposition in Estonia is very small, less than 10% of the most ignorant demographics, typically EKRE voters. "Actually many scientists and medics are against vaccination" Actually it's close to 0 scientists that are against the vaccines anywhere.
1
@Cortesevasive False and it's obvoius you never done any science in your life. Do you have any higher education? In what field? I know countless people with higher education and 0 against vaccines. I know a few that haven't been vaxxed though but none of them received any education after high school, the divide is obvious and only the most ignorant and uneducated on average have anything against the vaccines.
1
@Cortesevasive "Well thats ad hominem argument. " Not really as education is directly linked to why they don't understand vaccines. " It could be explained that the low qualification or unemployed people are simply not forced by their employers to vaccinate thats all." No, it couldn't. Countless studies have shown the exact same thing for ages: the most ignorant and uneducated demographic are the most against vaccines. Same people that think earth is 6000 years old, bigfoot is real and Qanon is real. "Please tell me where does your superior intelligence takes place ?" Intelligence doesn't take place, it exists. "or how does having degree in rocket science would make you smarter in this dilemma" Stupid people don't have degrees in rocket science. One needs to be stupid to be against the vaccines. Kind of simple. "or have it and sleep on it as a laurel while getting slightly above minimum wage?" I sold my company and retired at 31yo. I studied engineering and economics, how about you?
