  13. Just to remind you all that they threw David Irving in jail as an old man for what he said - should we not be outraged about that more than some mistakes or lies he may or may not have made in some of his books? We are lied to everyday by politicians, academics, historians, etc.....

Well what we know beyond any doubt is that the 'official' historians lie for a living and that the winners write the history books So, of course be skeptical about Irving, but he should still be read as some of his work is remarkable His book on Dresden was regarded as a classic worldwide - it was only when he went 'off message' about Hitler that his career was destroyed I have no doubt that his books contain some mistakes (perhaps even deliberate) - but our newspapers and official historians lie to us all the time We live in a world of mass lies and propaganda - best to have an open mind

  18.  @bakters  Stalin attacked Poland at the same time and enslaved it for 50 years, performing attrocities like the katyn forest massacre I'd say that proves that WWII had nothing to do with protecting Poland Germany made repeated attempts to avoid war with the British empire, none of which were reported in the media Similarly, none of Stalin's attrocities were reported either, he was called uncle Joe In fact the katyn forest massacre was blamed on Germany for decades, despite it being well known that it was Stalins doing

Literally every single policy he introduced was socialist in nature - he was one of the most left wing politicians in all history, he basically invented the welfare state Left wing politicians from all around Europe visited him to witness his socialist reforms, all of which were incredibly popular among working people He was in power for a long time before the war and to claim what he did wasn't left wing in nature is to deliberately deny reality for propaganda purposes

  41.  @johnhough4445  There weren't many innocent parties in that war The British Empire had slaughtered and enslaved hundreds of millions of people and was suppressing multiple struggles for democracy around the world The USSR had slaughtered and enslaved tens of millions of people, and invaded dozens of countries before the war even started and invaded Poland at the same time as Germany - yet was supposedly an ally The US was timing its entry just right to win the day and replace Britain as the new global imperial power Everything we learn is mostly nonsense

  43.  @dennisweidner288  First of all you say the 'forces of democracy' - And yet Britain was an imperialist power that had the world's largest ever empire, throughout which democracy was mostly prohibited While the USSR was a hideous police state dictatorship that had killed tens of millions of its own citizens Then you say that the Nazis were the 'primary threat' - primary threat to who? Germany repeatedly pleaded Britain and France not to declare war and to be allies in the war against Communism In 1939, the USSR had already killed tens of millions of people, whereas Germany had essentially killed no one The USSR also had a very clear expansionist policy and had already taken over numerous small countries As soon as you stop reading the official propaganda, this all becomes clear
