so back in the 60's smokey yunick the legendary racecar builder " ported " manifolds and cylinder heads by pumping an abrasive slurry through them with a pump. this left a cast looking finish but actually increased the airflow of the engine. at the time nascar didn't allow porting of heads so the slurry method looked stock instead of obviously polished. looks like those guys with the abrasive silicone are doing the same thing 60 years later.

yes and cut the subsidies. less sugar in our diets would be great as well. people's palates would adjust . and stop putting ethanol into gasoline
13
the stockpiles are still very deep. the military is required to keep a large stockpile for our own use that cannot fall below a set level. when they say there is a shortage it's a shortage of shells that are able to be sent , basically excess inventory.

likely gets fed to farm animals. in vegas there is a farm that gets all the food waste from a bunch of hotels and casinos. there is everything including paper plates and stuff. they remove the garbage then cook the whole thing to disinfect it . then feed the slop to pigs who love it. we are talking like 5000 gallons of slop . it's a big pig farm.

if ground rubber is added to the mix it's supposed to double the life of the asphalt . i assume it makes it more resilient to temp changes. basically more flexible which in cold weather is a benefit. also maybe makes it more waterproof. anybody know any details.?
8
the market for recycled is terrible. much recycled stuff ends up as landfill . it cost alot of money to recycle and the product doesn't pay for the cost.
6
@morongovalley940 she barely got into the variety. to sample everything would take a week at least.
5
should add ground rubber to the mix. doubles the life

it's like wooden pallets are still the most used pallets . every attempt at plastic or some other material for pallets has failed because pallets get so much abuse from fork trucks that they have a short life . and wood is still the least expensive option. plus many people use the waste pallets for firewood. so bamboo in places in asia is the cheapest option vs metal scaffolding.

@annabellelee4535 the russians can't even wipe their own asses let alone ukraine.
3
don't forget there is tons of waste from years ago that has accumulated . on the other hand the sherpa saying it's hard to find 8 kg to bring down must mean that it's not overflowing or anything like that.
3
the reason fresh asphalt plant has less blue smoke is with fresh they cook the stone first get it hot then add the oil at the end . so the oil never sees the flame . with recycled the oil is being cooked along with the aggregate.
3
totally false . there is nothing hazardous in the fiberglass blades . you know nothing about manufacturing fiberglass blades.

so the cutters have their hands wet all day and breath the wet glass dust. i wonder if it takes a toll on their health.
2
will you fund it? raise you middle class taxes sure that will happen.
2
did you not see that 85% is fishing gear that gets damaged or dumped by ships?
2
moral : this country is going down the toilet because of those attitudes. people being " allergic" to working
2
you have poor people in india earning a living by going through the sewers to find things they can make some money from. it's sad .
2
what is this obsession some people have with meters . in the us it's feet. learn to convert
2
there's always environmental activists complaining about everything. they need to be ignored. if the mining is in international waters they have no standing to object.

@johan8969 the water would be aspirated by the tree so should fall back down as rain
1
for all the people bitching about her not eating all she took she took a large variety to try out the different stuff so she could say if it's good or not. this was like taste testing otherwise she would have only tried a couple items.
1
you are correct. that's the way rich pronounced it on rogan years ago. it is benwah
1
incineration is a form of recycling. people here need to get that through their heads. instead all we get is opposition with boogeyman stories how it's putting dioxin in to the air. plastic is make from oil and gas. burning that is like burning the oil.
1
it's just stock footage . how do you think they put together videos ?. you think they actually go out and film everything from scratch?
1
every piece needs to have a mold . so if something is low volume that raises it's cost because good molds are expensive.
1
you say only 30% is usually allowed but then you say over 90% is recycled. so is there a problem? obviously there are new roads being paved so the total amount out there increases . otherwise the numbers don't add up.
1
all life will adapt to plastics in their environment . it's how evolution works. it's like freaking out about sand in the ocean.
1
yes this was very light on the actual operation of the system. like how much electricity is used to create that vacuum which runs 24/7 .
1
wait you compair apples and oranges. you say the south is 2% of the WORLD'S forest but produces 20% of USA paper. so so what percent of the usa forests is the south? make sure to count alaska .
1
the panty wetting about cluster shells is stupid. there are literally 100's if not thousands of sq kilometers of mined land where they are using the cluster shells. and the impact looks nothing like what they showed in this video. it's actually quite underwhelming when you see footage of the actual shells in use. they fall in a ring circle about 50 - 100 feet in diameter with little smoke puffs. none actually fall inside the ring. they are only effective against soft targets like trucks and soldiers in the open. they do nothing against trenches or mines.
1
the longer it takes to build a ship the more new tech gets developed that the navy then wants to add. i can't figure out why it cost 1 billion to research linear motor catapult tech. it's been around for a long time now in roller coasters and same principle in a maglev train without the levitation. oh it's for the navy so lets reinvent the wheel and spend as much as possible.
1
is the original even worth anything if it's made in china? overpriced crap. no way a handbag is worth thousands.
1
it is the best most practical way to recycle most plastics.
1
he cooks for russia now , traitor
1
get a bidet attachment for your toilet . it's under 50 bucks at places like home depot. then a roll of toilet paper will last you 10 times as long . they work great especially if you have gooey poo
1
almost everything we have sent is excess inventory except maybe the patriot system and any old soviet equipment we were able to purchase all over the world from countries that had inventory .
1
how about we just remove all import taxes on sugar . consumers would benefit with lower sugar prices.
1
well he got paid for every one of those hours as well. he didn't do it for free. he got paid to practice.
1
the water is 20 ft deep so they are actually swimming up with the bucket propelling themselves so when they break the surface they have enough momentum to get the bucket over the edge of the canoe.
1
this great work ethic and responsibility to support his family are too often missing in the us.
1
this yard is amazing. i have seen many videos of yards in pakistan and india . those are real hell. this place looks 1000 times better. the workers actually have boots , hardhats , face shields etc. and using the crane is a game changer. it's still dangerous work but nothing like the india ,pakistan yards. there the workers don't have any protection. just their regular sandals. and gangs og guys haul big pieces of steel together on their shoulders. and they get paid shit there as well. a couple bucks/ day.
1
trivial
1
should make paper from hemp . way better for the environment
1
so they are making paper not wonderlands for animals
1
there are more dangerous jobs in the world. you quote us stats but show a guy in indonesia.
1
why do they even need to be recycled.? they are 50% glass which is inert . they won't melt or pollute anything. the volume is trivial in comparison to the amount of ladfill we produce. i would send them to a waste to energy plant and burn them for energy. i mean the resins are made from oil and we burn oil all the time., so it's a totally legitimate form of recycling.
1
that money is what we spent for 1 yr in iraq and we did it for multiple years
1
foundry sand may be too fine and it also would have binders mixed into it.
