  3.  @josephj6521  no you need the large amount of users . that's how machine learning works. you can never perfect it in a lab or on a closed course. so far i haven't read of 1 accident except for the fake one early on where the driver forced the accident. and if people want to be beta testers that's fine. i just bought a new ice vehicle so i don't care about it except i own a bunch of stock from 2020 and elon's big mouth pisses me off.

  6. if you read the actual " fine print" it explains that you have to be ready to take control at all times. so not defending them but you have to be aware what you are actually getting. maybe in 5 years it will be that good . so others can do the beta testing. once it's certified by the govt then it will be good enough to consider.

  7. it's worse than that. they consider every sale to be a revenue generator by requiring you to have them pay you for servicing the thing. it's like the printer scam where they sell you a printer cheap but charge a fortune for ink . except here they charge you a fortune for the tractor as well. then you have Big Bud tractors which are relaunching again. they make their tractor very heavy duty and designed so the farmer can fix it themselves.

  8.  @sechran  depends on the business. we have a phone system at our factory . so most of the time you need to leave a message. we don't deal with the public. so our customers call individual cell phones of our staff. employees can transfer to the supervisor office. we have about 90 employees . been successfuly in business since 1986.

  15. i use a lot of mypin temperature controllers. to change the temp setting you press the blue button and the right most digit flashes . then use up/ down arrows. everytime you press the blue button it jumps over to the next most significant digits. i actually prefer that instead of pressing up / down and waiting . however these controllers only cost 25 bucks on ebay and work great otherwise. so it sounds like the hako station works similar

  19. asus should have just said they don't have that information available. just say this is the part no of the part. usually a company that sells equipment will give you a part no and price from them.they don't tell you for instance the size of an o ring . customer service usually doesn't have access to engineering details. as for facebook it's just asus complaining .

  22. so does the legislation mean the manufacturer has to sell you the part or does it mean their supplier has to sell it to you? big difference. we manufacture stuff for companies . we don't sell those parts to anyone else. so if someone came to us for one of these items we would have to tell them call my customer and get it from them. now if some company wants to copy the parts and sell them they can do that , but the cost for the tooling would be prohibitive. so i am a little torn. i want you to be able to buy the chip from digikey or someone else , but if that's a proprietary chip you should have to buy it from apple . so it's complicated. they should have to sell it to you but that runs in to how much can they charge for that. again no easy answer.

  24. 90% of the time the machine fails because the employees overfilled it at the end of the night. do you know when they clean the machine they don't empty it like almost all other machines. they leave the old stuff in and the machine " cooks" it to pasteurize it so that they don't need to throw out any .so in the morning you get recooked ice cream.

  26. they really crank it up with industrial equipment .it is easily 5k/ yr . this happened to us . we purchased a ferro arm cmm and bought the software years ago. this was bout 50k. then 4 years later they say they no longer provide updates or support but you need to pay yearly for the new version something like 5k . then they make a new model and after like 10 years they can't fix the old unit so buy a whole nother one.

  33. i'm not a farmer but the little i know about these deere tractors is that 90% of the time they breakdown because some sensor stops working. so the control should tell you what sensor stopped working and if possible keep working without it. or be redundant and have multiple sensors . like lets say a mass flow sensor. why have only 1 . put in 3 and use only 1 at a time. as long as 1 works you are fine.

  35. watch the actual video on the Hydraulic Press channel on youtube. they interview the guy. he didn't seem mad . this was in norway by the way. they partner with a norwegian channel and are always blowing something up. the partner has his own channel in norwegian . seems to be all about explosions. the owner said the car had a 60 kw battery originally and someone had changed it out to 90 kw with a used battery. then this battery was at end of its life. i think he said tesla would not repair it. i don't think a new battery was an option. they stripped the car of the battery and valuable parts before blowing it up. the owner didn't get anything . it was the youtube channels that made some money. norway is a cold weather climate and the batteries lose range and don't last as long. and this was an old model S with early battery tech.

  36. the roof leak sounds different to me than the car dealer although they both have cost in the diagnosis. in the car case it's the labor of a tech person and likely the opportunity cost of the time. lets say someone used a tuner program on their car that caused damage.so i can see in that case a repair not being covered by warranty and no customer will admit to using a tuner program. in the case of the roof leak a tech has to travel to a person's house get up on the roof and maybe into the attic and spend a bunch of time . also roof leaks can be notoriously hard to find. there could be substantial cost to diagnose the roof leak. and if every leak gets a free inspection i can see that ballooning .

  46. from what i read the batteries caught fire when they were almost fully charged . gm claims to have a software fix for this. by the way regular cars catch on fire at 11 times the rate of a tesla which has a rate of 5 fires for every billion miles traveled. as for the bolt i don't know the rate but Gm has sold like 60,000 + of them . the recall must have caused something to go wrong.

  47. the nozzle thing is a situation where if they did what the garage did they could not warranty the repair or the battery. in this case he was able to retap the plastic and put in a fitting to reconnect the hose. the plastic is not designed to be tapped. will the repair last 8 years ? maybe maybe not. tesla can't operate that way and neither will any other oem. so yes it sucked for customer . is this a common occurence on the battery ? i doubt it. lets say the customer ran over something that punctured the battery cooling system from below . should tesla just put some epoxy on it and call it a day? no. the car in finland that the guy blew up had an internal coolant leak. the batteries are hermetically sealed and not designed to be taken apart . it wasn't even the original battery. someone put a different battery in it, that's like putting in a different engine which goes bad and asking the dealer to put a new engine.

  50. if you sell stuff to ny residents over the internet you are obliged to collect taxes for them for those sales. the supreme court ruled this a few years ago. that's why amazon collects sales taxes as well as other internet sellers. so those solder stations you sell are subject to ny tax to sales in ny state.
