  1. i just had some of my people go to china for a week to a factory where we bought some large machines. it's in the middle of china in a city you never heard of but it's 15 million people. so they have lots of cities like that . not everyone lives on the coast.

  5. bullshit i hired an engineer from gm who was there over 10 years and he was still only making 95k and looking at only a tiny raise. yet he was responsible hands on for keeping a particular subassembly line running trouble shooting production problems and trying to improve the process. he was making less than the line workers

  33.  @chrisjackson1215  well i vote to increase legal immigration to 10 million per year. right now it's about 1 million way too little. and those fools that cry they take my jobs , where are these job seekers? every day 20% of our factory workforce call in because they can. i have no sympathy for workers anymore. they got large raises over the years so now they work less because their goal is to work as little as possible then complain how they need more money. and legal weed has also had a negative effect on productivity. we are heading down the road to venezuela.

  37. wow i assumed he was in his 40's. the guy is always hiking and talking at the same time . he must be in great shape. i just turned 63 today and my legs have given out. i sit here and they are all throbbing. had to stop the treadmill 2 yrs ago due to severe cramping. it sucks

  39. we have no problem finding welders. put an add on indeed getting 30 resume's in a weekend. other trades like the all around maintenance person for a factory very hard to find in our area . they are either unskilled non experienced for high rates or near retirement age , obese , and slow movers. anyone good we have to hire the same day or they get hired somewhere else.

  42. the only way manufacturing will make a big comeback is if they can employ a whole bunch of immigrants because today's young people have made it abundantly clear that they are not going to do any physical work . they go to college in way too high numbers in order to be able to sit in an office somewhere and maybe stare at a screen or more likely a cell phone. look at the trades or maintenance in a production plant . the men ( and yes it's all men) are nearing retirement or are 50 at the youngest. college kids don't want to get their hands dirty working on machines.

  45. the grade of the chain is the strength not the corrosion resistance. grade 30 is just mild steel . grade 70 is transport grade which is higher carbon steel . then for lifting are grades 80 , 100, and 120 which are all alloy steel heat treated . i would never use chinese chain for lifting or critical application.
