@ronoli9447 "So, why do they cobble all the parts into a c.g.i. reepresentation ?" I've already answered that. "in addition to your long winded explanation that black is actually white" If that's what you call "long winded" then that says a lot about your attention span. "you are becoming overheated, shrill and rude" Well, don't be a f**kwit and I won't be rude. Simple.
3
You lost me at “why”.
3
Because it's stupid and laughing at stupid people is fun.
3
So zero evidence to support your waffle then ... got it
3
It doesn’t qualify as a theory, at best it’s a failed hypothesis. “Theory for the thinking man” lol - keep telling yourself that.
3
@theflatouttruth6499 so in other words you’re unable to answer. Gotcha.
3
@luckyhaskins69 yeah, people that offer ludicrous amounts of money to prove Earth is a globe and then refuse to pay up when people meet their challenges isn’t exactly new. It’s a time honoured traditions still being practiced by flat earthers today.
3
@luckyhaskins69 Waving away the absence of a model that demonstrates Earth is "demonstrably flat and motionless", as you put it, and just saying it's irrelevant doesn't mean that it is. I think you just want to play word games for the sake of arguing. Obviously you've run out of things to do in your retirement.
3
@luckyhaskins69 "I could build a small scale model to prove my theory that water ,here on this earth, will flow downhill until it is contained" But we're not talking about a small scale object are we so what you're saying is irrelevant. "the gullible masses are easily persuaded into saying "but we have a working model"...which is actually incorrect" It is a working model. Your opinion on that is irrelevant to the fact that it quite literally works. "you have a theoretical model, perhaps a reverse engineered mathmatical model, but a physical, working model of the sphere earth can not be built" Well of course you can't build a planet. That's not an argument. Science aims to understand the natural world through observation and collecting data to fit a hypothesis, it is not predicated on needing to recreate the thing being studied before it can be said to be truly understood. The heliocentric globe model correlates observable reality with our understanding of our position within our solar system and it's a working model that correlates precisely with the World Geodetic System which has many practical daily uses. Unless you can demonstrate that this isn't the case (which you can't) then anything you have to say is just meaningless waffle.
3
It may not be what most flat earthers believe but it’s equally as stupid as anything else they go on about.
3
Does Eric actually debate anyone? Apart from his ridiculous bs-filled videos, all I’ve ever heard him do is whine about other flat earthers taking his lime light. What an absolute cretin!
3
Flat earthers are patted on the head and labelled as stupid, as you put it, because it’s trivially easy to debunk for someone with even a moderate level of intelligence. There is quite a long list of easily verifiable observations that clearly indicate that earth is not a giant snow globe. The evidence, when it’s looked at honestly, overwhelmingly indicates that earth is a tilted sphere orbiting the sun.
3
“I don’t ignore science” ... and then goes on to spout of a load of unscientific horse shit. Spoken like a true flat earther.
3
The southern celestial pole outright debunks flat earth and simultaneously proves that we live on a globe. Are you an imbecile or do you just like pretending to be one?
3
New data? There is no data that supports flat earth, only attention-seeking twits making false claims that certain - let's say "educationally-challenged" - people swallow hook line and sinker because they've been sucked in to a ridiculous internet cult that has convinced them they are special if they reject science. There is nothing to look in to, nothing to research - unless you really enjoy wasting time and making yourself look silly.
3
Kind of ironic that you “vastly missed the point” of this video
3
@tatonemio6388 I don’t know why I bothered to tell you the truth. I was curious to know if he actually “debunked” anything.
3
Yep, I’m not sure why that’s so difficult for some people to understand.
3
@dc95811 if its a simple question of is it flat or not well, that’s easy. It’s not. Get over it.
3
Or maybe you’re just woefully dumb and don’t have any original thoughts beyond repeating nonsense flat earth mantras? Just a thought.
3
Everyone gets hung up on the fact that she said flat earthers believe earth is accelerating upward - it’s actually not that important to the main message being relayed here.
3
@gilee4481 apart from that one thing, is there really that much difference between what the flat earth society preaches compared to what “real” flat earthers believe? I don’t think there is. Just a variation on the same idiotic theme! But regardless of that, the specifics of flat earth beliefs are superfluous to the main points Sabine raises in this video.
3
Are these the same Globebusters that famously proved earth was a globe in that Netflix documentary?
3
@jdw616 the sun's rays spread out in all directions. In the images you've linked the sun's rays are shown to be parallel for the sake of simplicity because for all intents and purposes they are as the sun is much larger than Earth. But because we're talking about the moon's shadow, the interplay of these angles has the effect of producing umbral and penumbral shadows.
3
@flatoutconspiracy6687 and predictably when someone asks a flat earther to substantiate their waffle, the lame excuses start rolling in. Gee, what a surprise!
3
@awakenedintofreedom I’m going to hazard a guess that you’ve never overseen a large engineering project where Earth’s curvature was taken into account?
2
@MrSirhcsellor P-brane is an expert in saying lots of stuff without really saying anything. It’s almost admirable just how much nonsense he can cram into one video. And why would anyone take seriously a guy that calls himself p-brane?
2
@opxchaos5757 watch any Eric Dubay video and just ask yourself the question - is he supporting any of his statements with actual evidence or is he just making claims? His 200 “proofs” is a good place to start.
2
Wow you seem like a real thinker ...
2
I think you would find that the number of genuine flat earth believers is actually quite small. The vast majority of them are just attention seeking trolls who get their kicks out of being annoying.
2
@tbrown3356 I don't see any debunking from you, all I see is endless word salads and refusal to admit that you're wrong - even though you clearly are. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if all known distances on Earth only conform to a sphere then Earth ... is a sphere. It's that simple. You can dance around it as much as you like, you're not going to change that simple logical fact that proves you and every other flat earther wrong. The sad thing is that while you might get some gratification by sitting on your arse typing out your word salads and feeling like you're winning an argument, at the end of the day Earth is still a globe and you are just wasting your time on meaningless drivel that in years to come will be forgotten about. Is that really how you want to spend your time?
2
@tbrown3356 Still dancing around I see. You're not fooling anyone with your inability to substantiate any of your waffle.
2
@tatonemio6388 thankfully flat earthers are extremely rare here in Australia. Given that all you need to do to debunk it is look up at night, that’s not too surprising. But T “Mitchell” Brown here is no different from any other - as soon as you corner them into explaining how anything works on their fantasy pizza world they start dancing about like a clown at the circus.
2
At least it actually explains the downward force that we experience. As flawed as it is, it makes more sense than density and buoyancy being responsible for it which is just plain dumb.
2
Zachary Hill and? You asked why density and buoyancy is a dumb explanation.
2
@Lordani66 have a look at some of Sabine’s other videos and ask yourself if she’s really going to stoop to doing a reaction video to that loser’s moronic nonsense.
2
@Lordani66 so one debate that never happened? Like I said, who has Eric debated? No one. And I know from personal experience that if you do challenge Eric he just blocks you from his channel. Look at the comments on any of his videos - do you not find it strange that this so called flat earth “king” only ever seems to have glowing reviews? Honestly, what an idiot! So much for debating! Chances are Eric doesn’t believe a single thing he says, he’s a con man who lacks any real intelligence but is smart enough to know there is an audience of paying customers who will swallow any old nonsense if it makes them feel special.
2
@Lordani66 There have been too many people calling out to debate him to count and the record stands that Eric has responded to precisely ZERO of them. Sorry but your hero is a mental leprechaun.
2
So what do you believe - other than “they” are lying? Which model is the right one? Seems to me that flat earthers saying “don’t know but it’s just not what we’ve been told” is a cop out to hide the fact that you can’t back up any of your beliefs with actual scientific data.
2
@tbrown3356 Why would I be angry when I’m right and you’re wrong? Navigation over long distances relies on spherical geometry. That’s just a fact. What I would love to see is a bunch of flat earthers loaded in to a boat and given the task of sailing around the world with the caveat that they couldn’t use any maps that are a globe projection (because clearly that would be based on a false premise) and they wouldn’t be allowed to use GPS - which shouldn’t be an issue because satellites don’t actually exist (lol). Of course we’ll never see that because the truth is, despite all of you demanding to see proof and experiments, none of you seem willing to actually do anything to substantiate your nonsense claims beyond posting links to dumb videos and expecting others to waste their time watching them. It’s pretty simple - come up with a working flat earth map or a model that adheres to observable reality and maybe you won’t be the laughing stock of the internet. I’ll wait ...
2
@tbrown3356 by that you mean globe projections? Is there some part of that term that you don’t quite understand? No, navigation over long distances isn’t going to work if you don’t use global coordinates. Honestly, at this point you’re just arguing for the sake of it. There is no such thing as a working flat earth map, stop pretending that there is.
2
@tbrown3356 You're very good at talking piles of crap I'll give that much
2
Nathan the evidence for Earth being a sphere orbiting the sun is abundant, so much so it’s not something that’s ever going to be seriously debated. This information is readily available to anyone who’s genuinely interested. But in my experience flat earthers aren’t actually interested in truth, they are mostly just attention seeking idiots who are best ignored. To think there are millions of people in the world today actively conspiring to keep Earth’s true shape hidden is just beyond stupid - and you expect flat earthers aren’t going to be ridiculed?
2
Yes it's kinda funny that someone who has made a career out of debunking something essentially has a symbiotic relationship with it and relies on it's existence to continue making videos. The irony is that by continuing to give these idiots attention, debunking videos just keep it going.
2
@vohannes in a vacuum chamber, yes - easily proven. So essentially, what I’m getting from you is regurgitation of flat earth-isms and a complete absence of original thought. I asked you to name these flaws in the “ball theory” which you claim exist - your inability to do that is noted.
2
@jimygod you don’t need to build a mile long swimming pool, you can just use common sense. Go to the beach and watch a boat sink below the horizon - there’s your evidence that water is curving. If that’s not enough, consider the fact that intercontinental navigation uses global geometry - and it works flawlessly - and so if 70% of Earth is water, then by extrapolation we can reliably conclude that it’s curved. Generally you would only do an experiment to prove something that isn’t blatantly obvious in the first place.
2
@jimygod Alright, well a ship is just one of many, many examples of how we know Earth is a globe. "All 4 corners will have a different level of water. This is something that cannot be disputed, if a heliocentric enthusiast and a Flat Earther work together on the project." But they would dispute it. The Earth's demonstrable sphericity is also something that cannot be logically disputed and yet here we are ... The thing with flat earthers is that no matter what evidence you throw at them they will find some way to dispute it, even if they have to make up their own laws of perspective and physics - which they do - or simply resort to lying - which they also do. Often. The simple fact is that if Earth was actually flat then this would be verifiable through simple observation of reality and measurements. The sun and moon would behave in a certain way. Stars would behave a certain way. Objects at a distance would appear a certain way. Distances between two points on Earth's surface would be a certain way. But when you do that, what you will find - beyond any shadow of a doubt - is that Earth is a sphere. I could list numerous ways that proves this but let's be realistic, you'd find some way to dispute it and I'd be wasting my time. So maybe let's just leave it at that.
2
@MrSirhcsellor I would add to that that a culture has developed of ignoring expertise in favour of opinion, not just with science but certainly science has suffered as a result. In a society where we want sound bites and quick information (the average tweet for instance is just 33 characters), long winded explanations tend to get overlooked even if they are factual.
2
@boterlettersukkel and he has an irritating voice.
2
The trouble with a lot of these “debates” is on one hand you have some science-illiterate nut case spouting off torrents of absolute nonsense and on the other you have someone who is totally unprepared to counter their arguments because they are so far removed from reality. Being able to win a debate doesn’t make you right.
