Russians are doing exact same thing, but they use drones manufactured by their MIC. The Lancet, now in its 3rd generation is the killer of $10M Leopard 2 tanks. It costs $25K. Ukraine bought up to 70,000 cheap toy drones on the market all last Fall and Spring. They strap little grenades and bombs to them like you see here and yes they have been effective, but due to their cheap origins they don't go very far, can't carry very much, and are easily jammed. There are many vids of these things flying at and hitting Russian BMPs and T-80s and the vehicle just shrugs off the blast and keeps right on going. Ukraine has to use these because the bigger, expensive ones given to them by Biden, like the Switchblade, are dependent upon GPS, easily jammed by Russia and have proven to be almost worthless.
