She died in early April. It may have been her wish for them to be quiet about it or edited out?
1
There was no active shooter. Relgious buildings offer sanctuary.
1
Actually no. A union official recently took sanctuary in a Buddhist temple in 2015. During democratization movement churches were helpful in providing sanctuary to people. It took over a month to get permission to raid a church owned compound relating to ten ferry disaster. Catching a person who fled prison would not just be a phone call and a stroll into a church in less than a few hours notice. They would have waiting for her to exit at least. Or the airport to catch them before leaving for a honeymoon. The writers either are not bright or they think we are not bright.

Korea has too many people with university degrees that can not find employment. She would probably find a job better learning a trade. The cost of college is more than just tuition. It's all the afterschool tutors and classes leading up to college. They are rich with family instead of money. The adult children have all found some type of job to work at. The kids are all warm and fed. And grandma is also supported by the family and she has a lot to offer them too, The fly swatter bothered me though.
1
So they aren't moving in the 2 bedroom apartment leased with his own money when the family moves back into the house? How odd.
1
Actually in this day and age MIL/grandma is carting the kids to lesson and the park and schoo, not unlike what happened in the 80's in America. The thirtysomethihgs work and the grandparents raise the kids. In China it's not unusual to leave your child with mom and then leave to go work in an entirely different province. Grandparents are often parenting kids. They are not trying to get a post menopausal woman pregnant. Just a woman who is still ovulating pregnant. They did not have the medical assistance when they are younger to try for a baby then. Now the government wants people to have babies, even later in life so it's available to everyone. The average marriage age for women and men are over 30. The orphanages are full of kids who were from unmarried moms or divorced families. They are not kids without a living relative because their mom and dad was 40/50 when they had them.
1
She gave her all into all her days. Least the kids have each other.
1
I highly doubt Canada is going to financially support a family of 10 who aren't immigrating because of leaving an extremely dangerous situation. Who will take of the 6 kids she leaves behind in the beginning?
1
Most people commit crimes because they had no money. The mom and the kid are both incredibly wrong. He needs a ordinary part time job and eventually full time job and a mom who doesn't bail him out of trouble.
1
No he was attending college abroad like elder sister.
1
People should be able to live in their own home. For a country that wants to increase the birth rate it is surprising a baby/child crying could be punished by a fine. Why not insist on proper insulation between floors? It would help the senior who needs to have the volume up on the TV as well.
1
7 on break is considered early probably cause students during the school year study until 2 in the morning. They go to school and homework, then they go to math and English lessons in private academies until 11 and then are up to do more work. It was impressive because it was on mornings they could have slept an extra couple of hours. The advice was just to keep the routine on vacations. Most the parents actually allowed for breaks like a movie or physical activity. I hope parents are paying attention.
1
Actually they are closing universities there because of the low birth rate, elementary schools too. Foreign univerisites are setting up satalite schools in songdo, south korea. 80% are in extra classes. They all want to get into the top three schools, only 5% will. Another 15% will leave and study abroad. The school you go to determines your future. The dad did have an enviable job.
1
You are right. It didn't lead to a job driving a bus. In the US to drive a passenger van or bus you need a special drivers license. The actor can barely dress himself. The scene where he complains about her sitting too close and then when she sits back she suddenly jerks the vehicle every three seconds is just goofy. I felt the bus driver license was more recent cause she was skinny while she did that. High school was the judo and the injury led to weight gain and only recently she got a full time job at a company because she lost the weight. But she did work. It seemed she could have worked at various things. Part time jobs don't seem to count as that first job. The first job celebration is for that full time stable position. She just couldn't hope for a coveted job because of her appearance and then her age seemed to be a worry to potential employers. Very shallow. The youngest didn't appear to be considered working since she is teaching yoga classes, and the number of classes varied month to month.
1
I have never seen a minivan in my life with an extended roof. The only difference in the two vehicles is the door. One slides and the other swings open. The point being the same. She recollected driving a bus to get certified in the beginning and she drove an extended height van befor collecting the soup. I really don't see a size difference and it doesn't matter since the bus was bigger. Are you related to the writer? I feel like you are like the Galbi employees assigned to the comments section. There were a million ways he could have been kind to iher besides this after criticizing her for something we all saw her do.
1
It is a great drama. Can't wait for the last two episodes. Also sad to see the series end. I am watching as their air by myself but started it from the beginning with family.
1
How awful to cut you off in the middle of a series like that! I like watching this way because it's from the network directly. I also watch on Viki app. I like this more than laurel tree tailors, my family feels to opposite. But both series are so good. The family interactions are more relaxed in this series. I do wish we could see a drama that has everyone living middle and working class jobs and lifestyle and being generally happy seeing different milestone and interactions change as people age.
1
Yes! I also watched reply 1997 and reply 1994. You are right about those. I loved the character Seoul from what happens to my family. The girlfriend of the youngest son with a lot of good sense. I also like Let's Eat because there is no evil mother in law or class warfare but it's no longer available in my region. Lots of yummy looking food too. Hopefully it will become available again.

@BorikuaRebelde would you rather not be alive or go to college? She is delaying. There are many paths to life. 80% going to college in a country is ridiculous. It’s patriotic to have a large family. It was said it was patriotic to only have 1 child. They forgot to stop telling people children were a burden. Now the country is in real trouble. The point is the gov had a duty to have good economy no matter if someone had 1 child or 20. Now China is begging people to have 3. Russia has been begging for 5. Now they invaded their neighbor in efforts to get a larger population.
1
Can't dad potty train the child? Kid have a lot of stuff. Tons of people are giving stuff to the family. They need less stuff and a husband that doesn't criticize.
1
He worked. He was the landlord. He didn’t father him. He wasn’t a partner to her. The fact they rank the kids and teacher’s publicize who got the top score is the reason to over react like that. I think schools recently stopped doing that to that extent.
1
Did Leo's mom come back? It was clear the older sister married and it was a few years later since she was pregnant. Why were they all dressed up and what was that note on the door. Obviously they were celebrating something with the flowers by the door. The note didn't get translated into english. I feel I'm missing part of the story. I enjoy these short dramas. Sometimes 50 episodes in a drama is just too much.
1
Even a person who did wrong can do right again. Lots of character to allow filming.
1
Mom gives the son lessons and a pass at working and then complains he doesn't study well. Make him fold towels and send her to lessons. I bet the lessons cost more than $15 a week. This is well beyond chores at home and helping out at the family business. Shame on her.
1
It's hard to remember to not to talk to someone for so long.
1
There should be a lawyer, they should not talk about criminal activity like this.
1
The first concern.. he is an alcoholic.
1
Why can't you take a balloon on the subway?
1
Wow did that kid play an evil person quite well! Glad she turned herself in. Who cares goes to which school and which college? What an odd country. I hope mom warned sister little brother is scary. Maybe it was all those pills? The murder was self defense. He had it coming. The only thing she was guilty of was cheating. Then the cover up of the incident. I wonder if she would have turned herself in if the wife didn't play that recording of her cheating though? Instead of killing the wife like she did the husband, or committing suicide like her own husband sounds like she chose prison to get away from her problems. I thought the person trying to rape her had more men with him at the shoe repair?
1
In Korea it has nothing to do with the ceremony being completed to be legally married. You must register a marriage and that can be done before or after theceremony, if there even is one.
1
Take public transit.
1
She is more likely to get a job if she doesn’t go to college.
1
Is this the first time they didn't like a food?
1
The kids were from the former husbands family. Her former SIL remarried and the kids didn’t adjust well or were abused and the courts allowed her to adopt the girls. Kids don’t always stay with their parents when there is a remarriage. They are considered part of their father’s line which makes things unnecessarily complicated.
1
The reason it's so expensive is the government for pushed for so many to have one or two for too many generations. Parents put all their resources in the kids. Now the standard of living is just unfair to people. Governments should aim to allow an economy where most people could have four confortably. With divorce no longer taboo people should be dealing with shared custody and step siblings. People need to get over the single parent stigma already. If two parents can raise four a single mom should be able to raise a kid or two on their own. Why does real estate cost so much, fix the supply and empty unit problem and bring those costs down.
1
He was ignored or hassled. He did not want the heath tonic or more classes or the pressure to get the top rank in class all the time.
1
The children have all finished high school, who are adults, and some have attended some college.
1
I really don't understand why they were mean to that little girl. Where was her mother, why is there no shared custody in Korea? Korea asked for the situation to be as it is. Why would you take care of your parents when you never got to see them growing up and they taught you your entire life to study for jobs that meant you would have to leave your hometown and go to the cities? Korea is to blame cause it's all about Seoul. There should be more balance. Where is the bonding? Why care for your mom who favored other siblings? One daughter gave mom a phone for around her neck. DIL wanted her in care close by and stayed in the marriage for her sake. In Korea it's the DIL who is charged with caring for IL's. Not even the children. So the boys were clueless. The only daughter appeared to be in an abusive marriage. Why would she bother to care for people who mistreat her. The worst part of the sewol ferry disaster is how little time those students got to really spend with friends and family. The mother decided to stay on an island almost entirely for tourists with almost no residents. Her choice.

@555Dragoon defamation is when you spread a falsehood.
1
Kids get nose bleeds and kids throw up. In real life the issue would have been known and disclosed. In a real life situation the parents would have met often with the child first for an older kid adoption. Both parents would ave been more comfortable with the child once home than this story. At least in the US. At the end they even said a medical issue can’t dissolve an adoption. It was a shame the gram was so good about the adoption. I didn’t expect that. Was proud of her in fact. It not uncommon for husband and wife to be at different places about starting a family. The things the mom did to encourage bonding worked. Happy ending.
1
How hard is it to imagine or say e adopted her? That was all odd.
1
It should be about eating disorders. The players behaved badly if this was supposed to highlight and help this real serius cause. The writers should have done some research.
1
I think the grandfather in the last concern does meet the characteristics of an alcoholic. I think he smokes and drinks knowing it's bad for his health. I think he wants to die of something before developing Alzheimer's. I understand the daughter in law. She already lost a father. Her concern for her FIL and husband is sincere. I am glad in the US the tables have turned on smokers. I wish adults were as careful about not smoking around kids and not smoking in the homes of non smokers or in front of people eating when I was young and I hope Korea adapts better smoking ettiquette. It was not a fun experience from childhood to be around all that. It literally stinks. It stays on the clothes and drapes and in the hair of those in the same room. Nasty.
1
How did the school not contact dad directly after skipping two months?
1
I hope they keep letting the private schools exist. Let the rich and power be segregated.
1
Loved the kids walking in on the interview. Nice they are on the show.
1
At the time of this drama it was a criminal offense and they could have gone to prison or paid a fine as a criminal penalty as well as lose out in the divorce settlement.
1
She sat up.
1
@lexisdinosaur4489 of course that guy was someone by her and her moms side when she was little.
1
@lexisdinosaur4489 he was not married to her mom.
