  9.  @alexanderbrown8308  Diesel is oil and doesn't gas off. As I said earlier I have had diesel and petrol boil on an exhaust manifold. They both require ignition. Diesel is only explosive when atomised under pressure that's how a diesel engine works.

The manufacture of those batteries create huge pollution and the electricity is often from coal fired sources. So you measure ultrafine air pollution? And?

  14.  @WeeShoeyDugless  Money talks and insurance companies are not happy and neither are the underwriters. The infrastructure isn't there and neither are these batteries sustainable for many reasons. The bans on EVs which are happening now will bring it all crashing down anyway. And good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

  17.  iscadean3607  Having been a truck mechanic for 25 years of my first employments, I never heard of any ICE vehicle spontaneously combusting. They can rarely catch fire but if they did that would be due to electrical faults or arson and even more rarely - collisions. I have had diesel and petrol boiling on hot manifolds with no combustion and diesel is the safest fuel there is. There are billions of ICE vehicles compared to a small amount of EVs so you are being statistically manipulated mate.

  27.  @georgejetson3648  Black muck from compost is not oil. It's just rotting muck which is black. Do you realise that oil fields replenish themselves after a few decades? Crude oil has no organic compounds in it at all.

  34. My life doesn't revolve around my car. Anyone who's life does, is a very sad case indeed. EVs CAN take a lot longer to charge than fill up a gas tank??? What? They DO take longer!

  37.  @ricco123tube  That is not correct we haven't all the details yet. Most of the info is anecdotal or incomplete assessments. The number spread around has never been verified. No one will give me any idea where that 2014 plate came from. I do know the vehicle was on a personalised plate so we don't know the full facts. The fire seen on the video is not diesel. It is too bright and too fierce and has no black smoke either.

  38.  @johnnyboy7459  PLEASE tell me where you got the number from because not ONE EV supporter has been able to tell me. When I ask they just disappear into the shadows. My recent info is it was on a personalised plate and was smoking when it drove into the car park and left. That's why the driver was arrested on suspicion. And no they are not on the right always. So I await your response. But I doubt I will get it.

  41. The government is forcing them to build these by imposing huge charges on each vehicle if they don't reach specified targets. Btw, my Defender was built in 1997 and is worth more now than I paid for it 17 years ago.

  42.  @carlkuss8300  Good comment. Hybrid RR were being produced in 2014. The fact that the details from DVLA don't say 'hybrid' means nothing. For them it's an ICE because that what it has. The battery is a backup if you want it.

  50.  @WeeShoeyDugless  It looks like YT has deleted my comment so I will try and edit it and split into two parts. Why? Because this could easily knock the bottom out of the EV market for good. This isn't just about being green and trying to save the planet, it's all about control and EVs with all their back door tech will be used to that end. That said it's collapsing anyway due to the market.
