@dreamsdocometrue33 M, were not denying that, but just like you and me aren't cavemen any more, today's housecats who were never feral aren't accustomed to having to hunt for their food. Now some could probably relearn that if they had to, but not all of them. I've always had cats that could go outdoors, and some of them would hunt cuz I'd watch them or they'd being back little trophies, which was amusing (and gross btw lol), but a lot of cats have only been indoors all their life and probably wouldn't know the first thing to do if they had to live outside. The best thing to do if people want to give away their kitties is find a good shelter or person to adopt them, unless they know their cat is strong and has good wild instincts, like most have mine have been but even then, why leave a cat homeless if you don't have to? Bottom line some cats will be fine outdoors depending on where they are but others won't, and people in general just need to take better care of their pets that's all.
