  2. The absolute obsession with General Ai in terms of humans is astounding. An aircraft is not a bird yet we all know it can do spectacular things. No language translation system is at human level of performance but no human on earth can translate a thousand languages. What is going to happen is that all these independent systems are going to converge to create new tools that billions of people will be able to use.

  5.  @Spookyhoobster  The point is it will not appeal to the everyday user who wants simplistic ideas that really appeal to them. The reason Apple, Google, Facebook, Youtube and Amazon appeal to people is their simplistic nature and everyday value. If brave offered some unique features that people can use such as some sort of photo app it could really grow its user base very rapidly. Maybe something like uploading a jpeg that you can then alter in a simple studio tool to make people look older or younger. I know that sounds goofball but it can be the thing that really drives usage.

  16. Operating a car is the same world wide in that you have gears, breaks, wheel, roads, other traffic and so on. As a western driver I would be useless in driving in a place like india and would probably take decades to learn how to drive to their standards. SO the idea that you can just do a system that can easily learning different environments has limitations as well.

  17. Insurance is meant to be for accidents and that does not mean a human has to be involved. A person who trips does not necessarily do so at their own fault. If such a driving system was to be in place you could imagine the insurance companies making a lot more money as cost will be lower.

Toyota has about $70 billion cash on hand and Tesla has about $20 billion cash on hand. Toyota has about $120 billion of debt and Tesla has about $6 billion of debt. Market cap has nothing to do with what you think it has. It is the price people are willing to pay for for a bit of the action that counts.

  32. One thing we were taught in hand to hand in military training is if the opponent has a knife and you have no weapon there is a high probability you will get stabbed. What we were taught to do was keep your opponent away from you such as using kicks or trying to find something in your environment to separate you such as a chair or table.   42. There just needs to be viable marketplace alternatives to chrome and google search. They do not have to be perfect or pure just viable. The real challenge is getting people away from Google search so that they are not dependent upon it so that they can be more open minded on search. The same needs to also happen with social media so that Facebook, Youtube and so on do not hold the whole market place.

  47. UBI is nonsense. Productivity will drop over night and there would be no incentives to build and create new things. People at the bottom would truly become trapped by the payment and it would absolutely destroy motivation. I have seen this happen with welfare. Only wealthy middle class people propose UBI especially those that think they can change the world with their dumb ideas.

  50. You would have got the same response if you ate green vegetables, nuts, avocado, fish, meat and small amounts of fruit. One of the keys to the meat only diet is that you will eat less calories and feel full and the same can be achieved with green veg that has very low calories. Japan eats large amounts of fish, green veg and moderate to medium amounts of rice and they have a very healthy profile. Iceland that eats lots of Fish, mutton, pork and Potatoes and greens (imports and home grown) has a similar health outlook. It is the high carbohydrate diet that causes many people to become insulin resistant and it causes so many diseases. Try green shakes with avocado that is rich in fat and low in carbohydrates. Lemons as in the juice is amazing at keeping away gout and kidney stones. Check out the youtube channel by Dr Berg.
