And as for Obama's "Affordable Care Act"; my insurance rates went *UP* after his stupid-ass legislation got passed. It made it LESS affordable.

Well, if the teacher starts to retaliate, then there's a basis to sue to have the teacher fired.

And there's something people don't usually think about. An important role for the VP is to be there to step in in case the President dies , is incapacitated, or is forced out of office. So whomever is the running mate should also be someone you could picture as president. That was never the case with Commie-La Harris, and definitely not the case with deer-in-the-headlights Walz. (for that matter, I didn't see Mike Pence as very presidential either).
27
It *should*, but people are stupid.
14
There's where I'd get into a LOT of heat as an elected representative. I'd have my staff poking through all those "must pass" bills and opposing the ones that were filled with irrelevant attachments. Then I'd have all my press releases point out just what were the parasitic amendments that made me oppose them. I know I would only ever serve ONE term, but that would be my cause in doing it.

A wasted vote is when you vote for a candidate you despise, simply because the other major-party candidate even more. Go out and find the independent or third-party candidate you prefer, and make the politicians know where you really stand.
11
Which is why I think it would be amusing to tap into their system and start feeding completely different instructions in his ear.
10
I've voted 3rd-party in presidential elections for the past 40 years. This will be my first time voting major party. We need Trump in there pissing off anyone and everyone for another 4 years.

Boy, if I could just upvote that more than once!

I recall us being much further along the road towards ending racism (not that it will ever be completely gone) in the 1970's and 80's. We certainly were far from perfect, but we were headed the right direction. The problem goes further back than Obama; I think the whole racial division came back with a vengeance during the Bill Clinton administration. It was far more useful to them to divide the country than to bring us all closer together.
7
@Wowjustwow37 I find it amazing that such a foul-tempered, hateful and spiteful person could have been the same performer to have played Guinan on Star Trek. Talk about playing against type.
7
Yeah, we're still trying to figure out how to kick NYC out of NY State.
6
@bertg.6056 And Jimmy Carter, even with his flaws and bad decisions, was at least acting with the interests of the American people at heart. Even when Beijing Biden wasn't ina state of advanced dementia, his actions were never to benefit the American people.
6
Right. The purpose of wiping your butt is to REMOVE crap, not put more on...
6
It seems like it all started around the time Bill Clinton was elected president. Things certainly weren't perfect but we were progressing towards a better society. Then Clinton came along and all that hard work was undone.
5
We just need to kick NYC out of New York State.
5
@shankington9931 No, I'm Libertarian. I have NO problem with it.
4
That was my immediate thought. Start setting up a whole bunch of bogus accounts and start blasting all sorts of complaints about woke pages.
4
As a Libertarian I admire RFK Jr as well. But there's plenty of issues I disagree with him on (gun control being one), but I am also pro-choice, so I can't support the Trump/Vance ticket either. Thankfully I can vote Libertarian (unless Hochul and the rest of her ilk manage to block any third parties like she and Cuomo had done before)
4
Yes, it's turned me off of Dave Rubin's videos.
4
28 years old? Is that back when he was having an affair with the sales manager at a company I worked at in the mid 90's?
4
@condew6103 Except those leaders and paymasters are probably comfortably back at the Chinese Consulate.
4
@cstevens8788 I know. They'd probably find mine laughable and/or sad...
4
@nothanks3236 I was just about to say the very same thing. Catching up on shows I should have been watching all along. I'm also hunting down some of the cheesy 80's "Sukeban" live-action shows (thanks to Kenny Lauderdale). Not necessarily "high art", but way more entertaining than the crap coming out of Hollywood and the BBC. All these hot-shot woke producers, writers, etc that think they can "re-examine gender roles"? Too bad folks, "Revolutionary Girl Utena" did it way before you, and did it WAY better than you can ever hope to. The most Hollywood can hope to do is find some property they can rip-off (like the way Disney ripped off "Kimba the White Lion". I can leave it to you to figure out what the Disney rip-off is).
4
HE doesn't feel humiliation, but I'm sure he wonders who this "Joe" dude is that forgot to stand up...
4
Well, Biden would have released MORE gas, but he filled his shorts instead.
4
Well, Epstein could have told us why Bill Gates called his company "Micro Soft"...
3
@blksbth1 Well, except I suspect the staff at my daughter's school would lean more towards Trump. Not that I've ever asked, and wouldn't ask either. They accept students' differences, but teach self responsibility, self reliance, and self respect.
3
And to think that Howard Stern was once a Libertarian candidate for Governor in New York (well, basically a whole horde of his fans joined the LPNY for a year, tripling the party membership for that year). Every week he becomes less and LESS "libertarian". Actually at this point he has become anti-libertarian.
3
Possibly because they see the world from an "outsider" viewpoint.
3
I think about how I was going to film school (SU) in the late 70's, and I think if I had finished there and then moved to LA to work in "the biz", I might have ended up being an asshole Hollywood Liberal too. Maybe not, as even at school I was already developing a cynical view of how the business ran, just from what they were teaching in the classes.
3
"...Why are they doing that, and not planting on any of it?..." They're planting the Seeds of Doom...
3
@hcleskov-fischer6033 And it should STILL be considered a union between two informed and consenting adults. What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom is no one else's business (notice I say "consenting" and "adults"; no form of force or coercion is acceptable here just as it's not acceptable in any other human interactions). Unless someone is a newlywed (or a college student) the amount of time someone spends in sexual activity is quite a small part of their time. We have to judge how a person is in the REST of their time, how are they as a participating member of society. How do they behave with their families, their co-workers, strangers on the street, etc. Do they advocate peace or violence? Do they seek to force their idealogies on others? Do they think you should be forced to pay higher taxes to support their own favourite social program, or perhaps an expanding military complex? Does your church feel two men or two women should not get married? Then don't perform the religious ceremony for them (and the couple in turn needs to accept that and move on). If a bakery opposes baking a cake for a gay couple? It's the businesses' option to turn down business they want (and there are plenty of other businesses willing to take the business instead). If there is no harm being done to you other than your sensibilities being offended, then you really need to decide if THIS is the 'hill you want to die on', to use the old trope.
3
Best choice, no. I'll still be voting Libertarian.
3
I'd agree that abortions at 9 months is just plain wrong, but other than that I am still pro-choice. That will put Trump/Vance out of my consideration. I'll be proudly voting Libertarian once again.
3
I'd think it was time for those Northern counties in California to split off and join an adjoining state (although I'm not sure Oregon is going to be much better).
3
Something I don't get about The View; here' you've got people with such happy-sounding names like Sunny, Joy and Whoopi. But unlike their happy names, they are such a sour, miserable bunch. I've thought we should just add an "H" to the end of LGBTQ and be done with it (that way it's just ALL of us).
3
"...If a person can’t figure out how to get an ID, would they know how to vote?..." I think that was their plan.
3
Oh yes, they absolutely did that in NY State. Can't have REAL alternatives in The Vampire State.
3
As a strongly Pro-Choice person, I definitely agree on that point. A woman should have ALL options open to her, and not just the "far-left" option of "kill everything". Sometimes abortion is the right choice, sometimes it's not, but it takes a fully informed populace to make a better society.
3
I'd have a heck of time explaining my evolving religious belief, I have enough trouble explaining panentheism to myself (and it's not part of any established group anyway). Ambassador Delen (Babylon5) explained it in part when she said "We are the universe trying to understand itself".
3
@CallmeScott67 Oh no, couldn't do that, pronouns are raccissst!
3
The Libertarian Party is ready to welcome you.
3
And just the way the characters *look* they seem more like some random people from your local Renaissance Faire play-acting for a stage show. It doesn't even look like a professional production even ignoring the inappropriately-cast performers. And mis-casting roles that should have gone to 'little people'? That started at least as far back as the movie version of "Wild Wild West", with the character of Dr. Loveless. Granted, finding someone as good as Michael Dunn for the role could be tough.
2
@Optim40 You have no concept of what Anime is. You think it's all "kiddie" stuff? Go watch "Barefoot Gen".
2
Manga and Anime writers still understand the concept that there has to be an actual, engaging STORY to tell, and even if you are trying to present a political or social theme, it has to be enclosed in something entertaining.
2
Sorry, but his actions in all the years he has been in political office, Joe Biden has been bad for our country. Actually, no I'm NOT sorry. The damage he did back in his cabal with Senators Kennedy & Metzenbaum, he deserves to lose his mind.
2
Yes
2
Because he's legend in his own mind...
2
Doesn't matter. He's only supposed to be a puppet anyway. How ironic that we've spent the last 30 years or more having to oppose the dangerous agenda and policies being pushed by Biden, and now he's just a joke.
