@sar7440 Christianity believes a human sacrifice is moral. It also believes someone else can take your punishment. Why would you think that was admirable? It's disgusting. What does "spiritual" even mean?
21
@slimal1 Islam isn't a racist, so how can you be racist against an immoral ideology?
16
@waiki8223 why bring up a fictional character?
15
@urzmontst.george Because it's a fabricated story loosely based on a mad cult leader who was just an ordinary man? If they wrote the old testament BEFORE Jesus, don't try and tell me people were illiterate. Jesus as a concept isn't even an original story,
12
Ban all face coverings, masks hoods, etc
10
I really don't understand why anyone follows a religion. Why would anyone believe something so immoral and so obviously false?
6
Not one of your best guests Andrew. A gullible, religious zealot who cant see the immorality in his own indefensible beliefs.
6
it isn't. It's a nationality. There is no Liechtenstein ethnicity for example
6
@ChristianRobotHead I'm not talking about Leviticus, I'm talking about the entire Jesus myth being based on absolving humankind of the mythical act of sin by being a human sacrifice. How can you think it's moral to do that?
6
Cheque
5
Peter is a top man. Always worth listening to.
4
@spector969 You can't defend believing in any nonsense like this.
4
@ResearchReally You don't have to be either. There is nothing good done by religion that can't be done without it, and being religious, doesn't mean you aren't woke. Ask Justin Whelby
4
@josiepkat People DO NOT need that. The best countries to live in within the developed world are the countries which are LEAST religious. Places like Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark rank consistently HIGHER than more religious countries and have lower rates of crime and better rates of societal health and higher standards of living. The world is not a better place due to religion or religious beliefs.
4
No they aren't. English isn't an ethnicity.
4
@astrovarius543 If its an ethnicity than it also includes people with a black, Asian, South East Asian and Indian origin who have been born here, and that goes against your agenda of trying to imply that being English is being white.
4
@reactiondavant-garde3391 Jesus IS A fictional character. The story of Jesus is as a divine being that was resurrected and performed miracles. There is no evidence anywhere of that. The fact there might have been a man to whom this was attributed means nothing. Jesus as described in the bible as the son of god isn't supported by ANY evidence.
4
@martybowie Boris Johnson was born in New York, do you see him as American?
4
@OhLillian man, I despise Jordan Petersen
3
@Globaldave1970 Yes, Calvin is a complete loon.
3
@voices_vary No one uses cheques/checks anymore.
3
I didn't find this guy all that interesting.
3
@stephendoherty981 No they don't. No one alive today has any idea. I'm so sick of the Irish going on about colonialism and "oppression"
3
@465marko What are you saying defines being English? What makes that uniquely English and what is the difference between being English and being Welsh or Scottish for example? Why are you obsessed with the "ethnic" element, why aren't you content with nationality?
3
@tbass94 Presuppositional apologetics are preposterous. One of the many reasons I despise Calvin Robinson.
3
@hardywatkins7737 Celtic is cultural, nothing more. There is no Celtic DNA for example and it has been extinct since the Romans
3
@hardywatkins7737 Ethnicity? I wouldn't call them Celtic, why would I? Just being Welsh, Scottish or Cornish doesn't mean you are part of a culture that has been dead for a thousand years. It's as stupid as saying a Dane is a Viking or an American claiming to be 1/2056th Irish.
3
@Swimmer1128 unlike you.
3
@jsg9575 I just gave you a thumbs down
2
@daughteroffamouscaptain120 Faith is the excuse people give when they don't have a good reason to believe in something. If you have a good reason, you give that, faith is useless.
2
I love Kev, if you don't already know about it. Listen to him and Mike's "The Thought Police" podcast. Funny as hell.
2
@Gilbert.Suhendra it's not true
2
This guy's beliefs are just as ridiculous, immoral, indefensible and laughable as any other religion. In order to be a Christian youce got to accept Human Sacrifice is a noble, admirable act.
2
@465marko What are you saying defines being English, and what makes English ethically different from being Welsh for example?
2
@avengemybreath3084 If you can't define it and identify some fabricated "ethnicity" as being inherently English then obviously it isn't.
2
@MellyFuller They don't go because it's a stupid, obviously false fairy tale.
2
@MellyFuller I was responding to the question of why people don't go to church. It was suggested that it was because it was old fashioned and boring (which it is) but the main reason is that it's so obviously false.
2
@MellyFuller I don't have to respect harmful, immoral or unjustifiable beliefs, especially ones that continue to affect society.
2
@MellyFuller What makes you think beliefs can fit in? Islam in the west?
2
@TruthNBible I think he's Church of England, either way, religious beliefs are reprehensible.
2
@ChristianRobotHead Why is it reprehensible? It's not a salient, cogent being, it's a bundle of cells. Who are you to tell a woman she has to remain pregnant. Would you force a woman who has been raped to keep the baby? What id she's pregnant with a disabled child, or if her health is at risk, or if she's a minor, or if she's not capable of looking after a child.
2
There's nothing more useless than saying "I stand with".
2
He is an ingenue. To me he seems like the sort of young man who can't pull women who has been seduced by morons like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson.
2
When he realised how ridiculous he looked. Same he hasn't yet realised how ridiculous his beliefs are.
2
@alistairdavies-m8u There are no Celtic people. Celtic isn't an ethnicity, it's a culture which was eradicated millennia ago.
2
@CrimsonCooker How does a human sacrifice solve anything? Your god sacrificed himself to himself to absolve a mistake that he made? Could he not think of a better solution than to sacrifice himself to himself, and only be dead for a bank holiday weekend? It's complete farcical nonsense.
2
@ddz1375 How is it people were illiterate during Jesus time, but were literate enough to write the Old Testament centuries before? Furthermore the Romans were literate, and they were contemporaries of Jesus, so why didn't they write about him, even if they didn't like him, also, somehow people were all of a sudden literate enough to write about him 40 years after his death? How gullible are you?
2
@richardingamells7213 The number of people who believe something has no bearing on it being true.
2
Peter Tatchell once suited a letter to a newspaper defending PDF files.
1
As Amy is a psychotherapist, how on earth can she mentally justify being a Christian? It's an indefensible belief and totally ridiculous. That is cognitive dissonance at its finest.
